Victoria H. (Wojnarowski) Chambrone

Mrs. Victoria H. (Wojnarowski) Chambrone, age 95, of Clinton, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, Inc., with her loving family at her side. Born in Utica on February 25, 1915, Victoria was the daughter of the late John and Louise Wojnarowski. She was raised and educated locally. On April 12, 1937 she married Peter K. Chambrone who passed away on April 14, 1981; the couple shared 44 years in a loving and devoted union. Victoria’s lifework was devoted to raising and caring for her children and her home, and her family always came first. She held no greater love for anyone than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As sick as she was, she still wanted to hold the baby as much as possible. Holidays were festive times filled with family and food, and her door was always open for loved ones. She was famous for her home made cuisine, especially her lasagna dinners. She had the ability to feed ten people with one chicken dinner and delicious side dishes! She baked a pie to die for, especially her deep-dish apple, and fresh blueberry. For many years she enjoyed her summer house at Sylvan Beach, and she had fond memories of her homes on Beechgrove Place, and Cascade Drive. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church. Victoria is survived by her daughter, Nancy Friot of Holland Patent; her son and daughter-in-law, Terry F. and Elaine Chambrone of Clinton; and her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Chambrone of Frankfort. Victoria cherished the memories of her sons, Peter K. Chambrone who passed away in 2003, and John J. Chambrone who passed in 2009; and her son-in-law, David Friot who passed in 2001. She also leaves her grandchildren, Kenneth and Kate Friot, Michael Friot, Valerie and Paul Falchi, Peter and Jeanie Chambrone, Joseph Chambrone, John J. Chambrone, Jr., Kim Chambrone, Nicole and Loren Burns, and Terry II and Melanie Chambrone; and her great-grandchildren, Brian, Kalyn, Elizabeth Louise, and Richard. Survivors also include her brother and sister-in-law, Theodore and Elfriede Bojdak of Deerfield; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friend, Rose DeTraglia. She was predeceased by her sister, Sadie Bernardi; and her brother and sister-in-law, C. John and Josephine Bojdak. The family is grateful to the staff of the Willow Way unit of the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, Inc. for the loving care and compassion offered to Victoria during her stay. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Victoria’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Tuesday morning at 10:30 at St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the service. Interment and committal prayers will take place privately in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
