Shernell Otisha Lanair Harvey

UTICA - Shernell Otisha Lanair Harvey, age 44, born in Utica, New York on May 6, 1981, entered into rest on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Shernell was born to the late Deirdre Harvey Greene and Lee "Tanky" Herron. She attended Utica City schools and graduated from T.R. Proctor High School, Utica, NY in 1998. Shernell wore many hats! She worked for many years for the Utica City School district, and she was last employed at the Wynn Hospital via St. Luke's Hospital for over nine years and she loved her job. Shernell was a member of the Eastern Stars, Starlight Chapter 6. Shernell loved a good game of “darts” … she was also on a Darts game league; and she loved beating her friends in a good game of “Spades”. Shernell leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her two precious daughters, LaNae Harvey and A’mani Harvey; her father, Lee (Carline) Herron; her siblings: sisters, Nakishia Herron, Syracuse, NY, Keyra Herron, Jazemein Dorsey, GA, Kim Holland, and Kendra Stubbs; brothers, Lee Herron, Jr., Ronald Tarver, Jr., Keyondray Garrett, Keyon Herron, Demetrius Howard, FL, Kinte Holland, and Kyson Stubbs; grandmother, Ms. Thelma Herron, FL; aunts, Robin (Cornell) Weathers, Tangelia Boykin, Geniene Harvey, Jamie (John) Burke; uncles, Marvin (Monica) Herron, GA, Brian (Lisa) Herron, Willie Herron, Darrell (Sandra) Waldon, FL, Mark Hamilton-Fitzgerald, TX, Jeffrey Boykin, GA, and Kenneth Pollard; and Godparents, Pyriner Harvey (aunt) and Michael Taylor and Tammy and Anthony Nevith. Shernell had many friends and cousins that she loved dearly, just too many to mention. Shernell was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mr. Richard Washington, Sr., and Ms. Mary Frances Harvey; paternal grandfather, Mr. Otis Herron; stepfather, Mr. David Greene; first cousins, LaRonn Linen, Omar Harvey, Nate Harvey, and Deric Brown; aunts and uncles, Carol Washington Boyd, Richard Washington, Jr., and Bart Harvey, Sr.; great-aunts, Ms. Carrie Lee Garrett, and Ms. Nettie Herron Richardson; and great-uncle, Mr. Robert Herron, Sr. A special thank you to the Wynn Hospital family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street, corner of Hammond Ave. Shernell’s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
