Rose V. (Furcinito) Wargo

Mrs. Rose V. (Furcinito) Wargo, age 89, of Clinton, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Masonic Care Community of NY. Born in Syracuse on October 30, 1918, Rose was the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Ann (Cutrone) Furcinito. As a child, she moved with her family to Utica where she was raised and educated. On June 22, 1946 she married John Wargo who passed away on January 25, 1996. For many years, Rose worked as a secretary and administrative assistant. Her life revolved around her family, and she was the matriarch to whom her children and grandchildren turned to for advice. She looked forward to Sunday dinners when she gathered with family and enjoyed their company. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Rose is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald J. Wargo of Utica, Stephen J. and Tracy Wargo of Fort Ann, NY, and David E. Wargo of Clinton; her grandchildren Marrissa and Lee Veinot, Lorraine Wargo, Veronica and Matthew Gazak, Amelia Wargo, and Stephen Wargo; and her great-grandchildren, Joseph, Brianna Rose, Matthew, Rachael, and the anticipated arrival of her great-grandson, Michael, who is expected on her birthday. Survivors also include her brother, Edmund A. Furcinito, M.D. of Utica; her special godchild, Netta Aiello; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, especially Mary Cutrone; and her grandchildrens’ mother, Sarah Shaheen. She was predeceased by her sister, Irma Caloia; her sister-in-law, Juanita “Anita” Furcinito; and her brothers-in-law, Stephen Wargo, and Joseph Wargo. The family offers sincere appreciation to Dr. Robert Burke, Rose’s primary care physician, for his ongoing care and attention. In keeping with Rose’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial donations in Rose’s honor to St. Anthony of Padua Church; envelopes will be available at the service. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Services of comfort have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St. corner of Hammond Ave.
