Mrs. Roseann P. (Biamonte) Orlando

NEW HARTFORD – Mrs. Roseann P. (Biamonte) Orlando, age 81, peacefully went to the Lord and was reunited with her husband when she passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Her passing was in the comfort and dignity of her home. Born in Utica on July 22, 1941, to the late Frank and Anne (Malek) Biamonte, Roseann received her schooling at Utica Catholic Academy, graduating with the class of 1959. On November 3, 1962, Roseann married her love, William “Bill” “Willie” Orlando. She married a hardworking man who was a great provider. Their loving relationship greatly enriched each of their lives and they were blessed with three beautiful children. The couple shared 59 wonderful years together prior to his passing on January 1, 2022. In her earlier years, Roseann had worked at the New York Telephone Company. She then spent the remaining years as a wonderful mother. Indeed, Roseann was a true friend to all who came into her life—all of whom were fortunate to know her. Her love and care were tried and true, and she always looked at life from a very positive perspective. Roseann was proud of her home; especially her dining table, where all were welcomed. Special admiration was shared for Roseann’s beautifully prepared seasonal decorations. She always made her house a home; this was her passion and her mission. As a couple, Roseann and Bill had enthusiasm for the presentation and meticulous nature of their house. A woman with a consistently calm demeanor, Roseann was a steady and consoling presence. Her ability to be a wonderful listener and put a positive spin on things proved helpful to so many. She enjoyed card games, especially Bridge, and sometimes, was known for being a bit competitive! She always had a plan for the day—she was very organized and was quite determined to hit her 10,000 steps. Roseann was a dedicated volunteer for numerous Utica agencies, which highlights how important giving back was to her. Helping others brought Roseann great joy. She attended Mass with reverence. She wanted to hear the Word of God and sing the hymns. When unable to attend in person, Roseann would still watch Mass on TV. Her faith was her core belief, and it brought her peace. She instilled the Catholic creed into all aspects of family life. Roseann was a parishioner at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish (Lourdes Campus). Roseann is survived by her children and their loved ones, Melissa and Timothy Miller, Dr. Greg S. Orlando and Mary, and Colleen and Peter Palleschi. She held in her heart the memory of her precious grandson, Maxwell Louis Miller, who passed away on June 12, 2020; she will live on in the hearts of her other grandchildren, Shelby, Grant, and Jordan Miller; Julia and Benjamin Owens, and Matthew Orlando; and Benjamin and Madeleine Palleschi. Roseann will be fondly remembered by her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Charles Natale. Roseann leaves behind her in-laws, Veronica and Robert Aldi, George Pogact and his late wife, Bonnie Pogact. She had many cherished relationships with nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was blessed with a multitude of friendships during her life, so many of which were important to her heart. Roseann was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Teresa (Bonarrigo) Orlando. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful people who aided during Roseann’s illness; they will never be forgotten. The family will honor and commemorate her life at a private time. The Orlandos will gratefully accept memorial contributions made in Roseann’s honor to a charity of the donor’s choice. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Roseann’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Lourdes Campus, 2222 Genesee Street. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
