Rose (Femia) Bucciero

UTICA - On Good Friday, April 18, 2025, the Lord called me home to be with Him and all who have gone before me. I was born on May 27, 1931, to my beloved and cherished parents, Natale Femia and Teresa (Pellegrino) Femia who have since left me and now await me. As the youngest of seven children, I was blessed with the love and example of my parents and my siblings. I attended schools locally and graduated from T.R. Proctor High School in 1949. While in high school, I met my beloved husband and soul mate, Edward Bucciero. We were married on November 22, 1952. After 25 years of love and commitment, my partner in life was taken from me on April 10, 1978, but not before leaving me his legacy of four loving and precious children and their spouses: Edward and Luanne, Frank and Lori, Ronnie, and Julianne and Joe Zegarelli. They have always been my most devoted and priceless assets in my life. I was also blessed with ten grandchildren: Lauren (Jaime), Kristyn (Pat), Sammi (Alex), Molly (Greg), Ronnie (Maddie), Michael (Daneille), Danielle, Amanda (Cameron), Eddie (Bianca), and Lauren Ferrio Hulser, who will always be like a granddaughter to me; and 11 great-grandchildren, Santino, Ronan, Giuliana, Francesca, Michelina, Miles, Ada, Carson, Skylar, Thea, and Bryson. I was predeceased by my siblings and their spouses, Vincent and Betty, Frank and Ronnie, Rocco and Loretta, Joseph and Bruna, Marian and Dominick Mazzaferro, and Felicia and Dominick Taglieri. During my life, I was blessed with many loving nieces and nephews, especially those who became my extended family and stayed close to my heart: Rocco and Jane, Dominick and the late Sheila, and my Monday morning breakfast group at Mar-Logg: Nate and Debbie, Terri and Andy, Maryanne and Joe, Liz and Frank, Patti and Tom, Joe and Roberta, Rob and Kim, and Steven. Throughout my life, I was also surrounded by the love of so many friends - my Liturgy group, my card friends, my Brandegee girls, my dear friend, Sheila Bateman, and so many more, too numerous to count, but who know who they are. I would be remiss if I did not mention Nancy Eannace and her staff for making the transition from life to death a beautiful happening. I was additionally preceded in death by my in-laws, Julia and Frank, Nick (Josephine),Tom (Jean), Ralph (June), Bobbie, Frank Louie and Nancy Bucciero, Dorie (Bill) Cahill, Toni (Ed) Bonville, Rose (Sam) Graziano, and I always kept mindful of their children and their families. To my children, I leave you my legacy of undying love for you and I thank you for all the love and respect you have always given to me in life. I will always love you and be near to you. You should never have any regrets or “would-have, should-have, or could-haves.” You did it all. I thank God for my beautiful and blessed life on earth and look forward to re-uniting with all those I love who have gone before me. Till we meet again, my children, remember, “All my love, all my life.” During a time of reflection, while pre-planning her final arrangements, Rose took the opportunity to write this beautifully composed story of her life. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff and volunteers at the Masonic Care Community on NY, including the Albany and Westchester Households where mom resided for the past 1 ½ years. Beyond the care, compassion, and quality of life she received—not to mention the table bowling skills—many of you became like family to both our mom and to us. You will always have a place in our hearts. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Rose's Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay St. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider a donation in Rose’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital online at www.stjude.org/donate; envelopes will also be available at the service. Entombment will take place in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Rose was devoted to and had a pure relationship with her Lord. Thus, the following scripture serves as a testimony to the way Rose lived her life: Matthew: 25:23, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much.
