Mr. Ronnie Allen

UTICA – Mr. Ronnie Allen, age 69, was called home to be with his loving God on Sunday, August 31, 2025, following a brief illness. Born in Utica on October 26, 1955, Ronnie was the son of the late Milton and Mary (Dixon) Allen. He attended Columbus Elementary School and was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. A proud U.S. veteran, he enlisted in the Navy in 1972 and later served with the Navy Reserve and the National Guard. At one time, Ronnie was wed to Philomena Taurisano and from that union came the blessing of two daughters, Laronda and Renee. He also shared a relationship with Kimberly Warner, and together they were blessed with seven children. Ronnie held a wide range of local positions throughout his career. His work included serving as a Night Stocker at Target, a Janitor for American Building Maintenance, an Environmental Tech II at Faxton-St. Luke's, and an Environmental Technician for Janetize Cleaning. He also held a seasonal position at the New York State Fairgrounds through Human Technologies Corp., worked in Assembly and Packaging for Columbia Place Associates at Brodock Press, and was employed as an Inserter at the Observer-Dispatch. The best way to describe Ronnie is simply to say—he was uniquely himself. He was steadfast in his convictions, determined in spirit, true to his word, and always willing to lend a helping hand to those he loved. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life, especially a good cup of coffee and a cold beer. Above all, the greatest love of his heart was his grandchildren. His world truly revolved around them. In his younger years, Ronnie was an exceptional athlete, excelling in track and field. He was a member of the Greater Holy Temple, where he attended church faithfully. One of his favorite sayings was, “What’s love got to do with it?” Ronnie is survived by his children and their loves, Beverly “Seven” Hammett, Lisa “Slim” and Hassheim White, Melissa “Missy” Warner, Toysette “Toy” Allen, Danielle “Boo” and Timothy Pinkney, Vanessa and Mark Dingle, Laronda Allen, Renee Allen, Jean and Kenneth Washington, Kenneth Warner, Paul Titus, Jason Titus, and Lee Titus. He held close to his heart the memory of his sons who preceded him, Ronnie Allen Monahan, Chanel Allen, and Demetrius Warner. He is additionally survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brothers and their loves, Michael Allen and Shirley, Dennis and Janie Allen, and Kenny Allen; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and cherished friends He was additionally predeceased by his sister, Carol Allen; and two brothers, Milton Allen, Jr., and Willie Frank Dixon. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street, corner of Hammond Ave. Ronnie's Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Military Honors conferred by the U.S. Navy. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
