Baby Roemello Devontre Maurice Wright Jr.

UTICA - Baby Roemello Devontre Maurice Wright, Jr., 28 days old, went home to the Lord and became an angel as he passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 26, 2020. Born in New Hartford on June 28, 2020, Roemello Jr. was the son of Alexa P. Minor and Roemello D. M. Wright, Sr. He was active within his mother’s womb, and he fought his way into this world. The Lord allowed him to survive and thrive for 28 glorious days until he became God’s angel. During his brief life, his family cuddled him, played with him, and loved him, and he brought so much joy and excitement to their lives. He was a miracle child and a true blessing; they thank God for each day they were blessed with him. He had beautiful brown eyes, wavy dark hair, long fingers that held on tight, and strong legs. He was always curious and held his head up with great strength. He had a favorite stuffed giraffe that he grabbed around the neck and held close as a friend. He was very active and extended his fisted hand showing all what a true fighter he was. In his eyes, you saw the joy of life and the recognition of his parent’s love that protected him. He would grab his daddy’s necklace, a tether that connected both of them. He was constantly surrounded by his family, especially his grandparents who were so excited to meet him, feed him, and shower him with hugs and kisses. They took tons of photos and were so proud of their grandchild. He was truly loved by all of his family and they all hope that he rests in paradise. Roemello Jr.’s brief life will carry on with a host of heavenly angels at his side, and his beautiful brown eyes will watch over those who gave him so much love. Roemello Jr. is survived by his mommy and daddy, Alexa P. Minor and Roemello D. M. Wright, Sr.; his proud maternal grandparents, Denise Asencio and Patrick Minor Sr.; aunts, Sheila White, and Candice P. Minor; uncle, Patrick Minor, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Charity Caye and Jaelen M.R. Wright; aunt, Jyra Nash; paternal great-grandmother, Rose Caye. He was predeceased by his paternal great-grandfather, Edward Caye; paternal great-grandparents, Delores M. Henry and Louie W. Wright; uncle, Akeem Caye; and loved by a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins. The family is grateful to the staff of the Women’s and Children’s Medical Building, MVHS at St. Luke’s Healthcare for their medical expertise. The outreach of the Lincoln Angels and Thea Bowman House uplifted and comforted the family with their mission to keep Roemello’s memory present to all of us. Roemello Jr.’s angelic life will be celebrated at 6:00 on Monday evening at the funeral home. Due to current restrictions we will be operating at a reduced occupancy.
