Mr. Richard Lee "Dick" White

Mr. Richard Lee “Dick” White, 88 of Whitesboro passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Born in Utica, July 19, 1927 he was the son of the late Edgar L and Olga (Eyserbeck) White. He was a 1945 graduate of Utica Free academy and honorably served in the United States Navy. Dick graduated from The Lincoln Executive School in Ohio. On September 24, 1949 he joined in marriage with the former Diane Busch sharing an incredible 66 year partnership. Their relationship was graced with reciprocal love and affection. Dick was employed by Utica Duxbak Corporation for more than 35 years and retired as VP of operations. In retirement he joined the staff of Eannace Funeral Home where his services were greatly respected and appreciated by his colleagues and the public. A devoted family man, he was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he held various positions. He belonged to many organizations including American Legion Post 1376 and Wishing Well Hunting Club. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed golfing and hunting. Dick was a regular in the locker room at Utica College and made “his mark” in the sauna. Dick is survived by his wife Diane; his children R. Barry (Mary) of Whitesboro, Christopher (Nancy) of Henderson NV. Jeffrey (Laura) of Zion, Il. and Tracy of Mineral, Va. Grandchildren include April and Dennis Cargill, Jessica Bianchi, Nicole White, Richard and Jessica White, Matthew L and Colleen White, Gretchen and Jason Mays, Michelle White, M. Brooke and Michael Shelton, Ashley and Mitch Jones and Todd Nedza and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces Nancy (Hank) Eichenhofer and Sharon (Ken) Kelsey and families. He was predeceased by his granddaughters Jesse Lee White and Brianne Bianchi, sister-in-law Gretchen E. Busch, sister and brother -in-law Elizabeth and Wayne Shoecraft, and brother, Harold E. White killed in action during World War II. The family is grateful for the care given to Dick by the staff of Cedar Unit at the Presbyterian Home of Central New York. The will be no calling hours. His life will be celebrated in a private gathering at the convenience of the family.
