Ralph J. Fimmano

Mr. Ralph J. Fimmano, age 78, formerly of Albany Road, Frankfort, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center. Born in Utica on March 22, 1929, Ralph was the son of the late Rocco and Emily (Giordano) Fimmano. He was raised and educated locally. On June 21, 1952 he married the former Angela Sottilaro. The devoted couple shared 55 years in a loving union. Ralph was employed as a postal worker for the U. S. Postal Service at its original location on Broad Street, retiring from the relocated Pitcher Street facility after many years of loyal and conscientious service. Ralph’s life revolved around the love, care, and guidance of his family. In his younger years, he excelled in the sport of baseball, and participated with several local teams. He was also an avid Yankees fan. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Ralph is survived by his wife Angela; his daughter and son-in-law, Emily and John Kipper of Sauquoit; his son, Rocco D. Fimmano of West Palm Beach, FL; and his grandchildren, Amanda Marie, and Cassandra Lyn, who he cherished and adored; they were an important part of his existence. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Josephine Fimmano of Utica; his brother-in-law, Larry Belmonte of Frankfort; nieces and nephews, Gaetano and Maryrose Belmonte of Clinton, and Dominick and Cindy Belmonte of Frankfort; great-nieces and great-nephews, Angela Mia and Dante Belmonte, and Myranda and Vanessa Belmonte. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Adele Belmonte; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Sottilaro of Italy. The family extends appreciation to the entire staff of the Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center especially acknowledging 40 West, the Physical Therapy staff and social worker Lisa Spillett for their genuine care, devotion, and concern. Visitation will be held Sunday (today) from 5:00-8:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Ralph’s funeral service will commence on Monday morning at 9:00 from the funeral home and at 10:00 at the First Assembly of God Church, 9413 Maynard Drive, Marcy. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
