Racheal (Falvo) Notaro

Mrs. Racheal M. (Falvo) Notaro, age 92, a native of Utica and currently residing with her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Diane, in their home in Clinton, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2006. Born in Utica on April 2, 1914, Racheal was the daughter of the late Frank and Angeline (Valella) Falvo. She was raised and educated locally. On June 9, 1934 she was joined in marriage with Peter J. “Bucky” Notaro, with whom she shared 53 years, until his passing on September 17, 1987. The couple prized their unconditional love and commitment that provided a good life for them and their family. Racheal’s responsibilities and concerns in life revolved around her family. Her children and grandchildren bestowed upon her the greatest joys of her life. She was proud of her Italian heritage and focused her day around preparing and taking pleasure in her well-savored cuisine. During her leisure time she enjoyed playing bingo and games of chance. Wise and progressive in her thought processes, she was a woman ahead of her time. She possessed a great sense of humor, until the very last moments of her life. A religiously reverent woman, Racheal was strengthened and upraised by her prayers and to her devotions. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish at Mt. Carmel Church. Mrs. Notaro is survived by her children, Paul and Diane Notaro of Clinton, Joseph and Elizabeth Notaro of Texas, Betty and Harry Turner of Clinton, and Angela and Robert Rice of Florida; her grandchildren, Gianni Notaro and his mother, Darlene Benson, Mari Notaro, Peter and Joseph Notaro, Jacqueline, Regina, and Cynthia Turner, Stacey and Jeff Fergeson, Shantal and Walter Wagner, and Danny and Marian Walker; and several great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves a sister, Mary Fierro of New Hartford; nieces, nephews, especially acknowledging Pauline and Ralph Giovanazzo, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Falvo. The family extends its sincere appreciation to Patricia Rosati, N.P., for her kindness and professionalism; and to Racheal’s daughter-in-law who opened her home and her heart, and respected her mother-in-law’s health concerns. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Please omit floral offerings. Mrs. Notaro’s funeral will commence on Tuesday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish at Mt. Carmel Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will take place in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
