Mrs. Patricia "Patti" (Mancuso) Priset

Mrs. Patricia "Patti" (Mancuso) Priset, age 61, went home to be with her sons on Friday, September 18, 2015. Her passing occurred at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center with the love and support of her family by her side. Born in Utica, New York on August 7, 1954, Patricia was the daughter of the late Frank P., Jr. and Catherine A. (Brennan) Mancuso. She also knew the love and guidance of her step dad, Peter Konowich. She was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School Class of 1973. She continued her education at M.V.C.C. earning an Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy in 1980. To expand and diversify her medical career, she returned to M.V.C.C. in 2002 and graduated in 2005 from the Nursing program becoming a Registered Nurse. Patti began her career at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital in 1985 as a Respiratory Therapist. She was dedicated and charismatic in caring for her patients. During that time she worked for Lincare, Inc, as a Home Care Respiratory Therapist and in 2005 after passing her Nursing Boards she began working in the capacity of a Registered Nurse at New York State at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center, and St. Luke’s Hospital. A member of the CSEA, she served her co-workers as union steward and was a member of the New York State Nurses Association. Her compassion and inner strength provided the perfect prescription in caring for her patients. She had a durable work ethic and standards that exceeded normal expectations. Her co-workers acknowledged and applauded her honorable principles and practices in the workplace. On February 19th 1983 Patti married Louis E. Priset, Sr. in Redlands, California. They were a unique couple who knew the love and happiness harbored in their hearts. Many dear memories will vividly live in Louie’s mind as if they were made yesterday. Those memories will last for a lifetime. Patti lived by the credo that ‘family was first’. As a mom, she was a good listener with a wealth of wisdom and good advice. Always fair in her decisions, she garnered the love and respect of her children. She was so proud of their accomplishments and attributes. Her greatest success was in raising a wonderful family and knowing the blessing of her granddaughter who was the light of her life. She enjoyed traveling to see her and shopping for special gifts for her precious granddaughter. She also had the knack of knowing how to be a dependable friend and through her love, sincerity, and so many selfless acts of kindness, the friends she embraced with open arms became family. Patti was capable in the kitchen, cooking and canning. She had a talent for knitting, was an eager reader of Nora Roberts novels. She took pride in her appearance and had her own style..hence the purple hair. In looking back, Patti was strong, feisty, resilient, perceptive, and perseverant in her ambitions to live an admirable, and accomplished life. Through her hard work and fortitude, she was successful, and she leaves her loved ones with lasting memories of her best efforts in all that really mattered during her time on this earth. She was a fine example of a woman who was well seasoned who was grounded in her life because of the love for her God. Patti is survived by her husband, Louie; her children, Louis E. Priset, Jr. and her twins, Rachel C. Priset and Mark C. Priset. Always close to her heart were the memories of her sons, William, and Jeremiah who preceded her in death. She also leaves her adored granddaughter Callie and her mother; her brother, William Konowich, of whom she was so protective until her last day. She will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, especially acknowledging Bonnie and Don Corio; in-laws including Joseph Priset, and Agnes Anderson, and her lifelong friend, Helen (Guarno) LaMore with whom she shared a sisterhood, and her husband Alan; and a host of friends including Bob Springer and Donna Casaletta. The family is grateful to the nursing staff of the Intensive Care Unit and the Respiratory Department at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center including Deanna, Sandy, Susan, and Holly for their incredible and impeccable care; Hospitalist, Dr. Apurva Shah; the Hospice & Palliative Care team who were inspiring and comforting; as well as Deacon Paul Lehmann for his spiritual solace. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Gathering which will be held on Friday from 4:30-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Memorial contributions may be considered to the education fund for Patti’s granddaughter Callie; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Patti’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Friday evening at 7:00 at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Lehmann officiating the ceremony. Inurnment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
