Pablo Davila

Mr. Pablo Davila, age 73, a resident of the Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2008 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center. Born in Salinas, Puerto Rico on January 31, 1935, Pablo was the son of the late Dioniso Espada and Antonia (Davila) Gonzalez. He was raised and educated in Puerto Rico. A proud veteran of the U. S. Army, he honorably served his country from 1952-1955. Along with his family, he relocated to Brooklyn, NY and then to Utica in 1958. Pablo was employed as a professional tractor-trailer driver for various trucking companies. He was a devoted man who appreciated his family and above all, his late mother. Pablo was good-hearted and he had many loyal relationships because of his kindness and willingness to help others. In his earlier years, he owned a Harley Davidson motorcycle which he detailed to perfection and especially enjoyed riding with his best buddies. Pablo is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Edger Cabrera, Betty Davila, and Madeline and Frank Cruz, all of FL, and the mother of his daughters, Lola; his son, Armond Vicente Davila; his 3 grandchildren; and his 6 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Elena Roman of Utica, Andrea and Alfonzo Ortiz of Puerto Rico, Elizabeth Santiago, Sara Wilmore and Ramon Colon, and Eloida and Angelo Guzman, all of Utica; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Paulino Santiago. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff members of the Charles T. Sitrin Home who were so attentive to Pablo’s needs, the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, and his physicians who always cared for him with much kindness. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-6:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Pablo’s funeral service will commence on Thursday evening at 6:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Pastor Martin Atayde officiating the ceremony. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 9:45 a.m.
