Mr. Natividad "Nati" "Goly" Irizarry

UTICA - Mr. Natividad “Nati” "Goly" Irizarry, age 82, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 with his loved ones by his side. Born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico on December 25, 1940, Natividad was the son of the late Pablo Juan and Venera (Molina) Irizarry. On October 11, 2003, in Utica, he married the former Martha DeLeon-Ramos with whom he shared 19 years. Their love and devotion was strong for one another and Martha was by his side, right up to the very end. Natividad loved and provided for his large family of 7 children with the utmost dedication. At the foundation of this devotion was his unending love for the Bible and to his God, Jehovah. He raised his family with these values and instilled in them a love for God. Natividad worked as a meat cutter and mechanic who later had his own business buying and selling cars. He was a hard worker who always made sure his family was well cared for and was well liked by his neighbors as an extremely kind and compassionate man. He loved going for long rides in the country, sitting by a campfire, watching the Yankees and playing dominos with his beloved brothers and nephews, with whom he shared a special love and attachment. Natividad is survived by his wife, Martha; his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky (Becky) Irizarry; his daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie (Mark) Genz, Elisa (Louis) Frey, Lucinda Blount, Elizabeth (Troy) Smith, Marlene Irizarry, Lynzie (Joseph) Boucher; his step-children, Jose Diaz-DeLeon, Marie Lynn (David) Diaz-DeLeon, Alicia (Mike) Diaz-DeLeon and Rosedelma (Jose) Diaz-DeLeon and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially his granddaughter, Kayla, who called him every day. He also leaves his brothers and sisters-in-law, Felipe and Judith Irizarry, Juan Irizarry, Emilio and Gladys Irizarry, and Enrique and Gloria Molina; his sister-in-law, Ana Rosa Irizarry; his many special nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and the many family friends who touched his life, and many of whom have gone before him. He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Jane Irizarry; his sister, Elisa Irizarry, his sister and brother-in-law, Anita “Ana” and Armondo Zayas; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Santos I. Irizarry Molina and Elsa Molina; Nicolas and Leonor Irizarry and Pablo "Pavin" Irizarry; in-laws, Barbara E. Irizarry; nieces, Linda M. Irizarry-Kimball, and Diane “Bayba” Ruiz (Zayas); and nephew, Joseph L. Irizarry. The family extends their thanks to Dr. Wassel and Dr. Kandiah for their medical expertise and care; the staff and nurses at the Pines Nursing Home; and especially the loving nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, on the third floor. At Natividad’s last request, a brief bible discourse will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 6:00-7:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 585 Trenton Rd., Utica, NY.
