Mrs. Mary L. (Falcone) Parisi

UTICA/CAPE MAY, NJ - A unique and loving soul, Mary L. (Falcone) Parisi, age 99, departed this life on Good Friday, April 15, 2022. Born in Utica on October 23, 1922, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary L. (Abruzzo) Falcone. She was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1940. On July 15, 1944 she married Joseph S. Parisi, a union that joined their hearts and minds and brought them the joy of many meaningful experiences. During their 51 years together, they never neglected the important aspects of their marriage. Her beloved Joe passed away on November 17, 1995. As many may remember, Mary’s late husband Joe established Parisi Real Estate, and when Mary joined forces with him, together they built a reputable and successful business. She was knowledgeable and keenly insightful as an agent and will be remembered for her honesty in dealing with their clients. Mary’s generation knew the best of times, and when she was raising her family, love and laughter filled her heart. She was a devoted mom and a perfect partner to her husband. Mary and Joe traveled, golfed, played cards, treasured wonderful friendships, and realized their full potential. Although they were blessed with three children, two passed away in infancy, and their beloved son’s life was not long enough. Since his passing, Mary once again displayed stoic strength and was sustained by her faith. As a sibling, she was a second mother and a beacon of unconditional love, and upon her sister’s illness and passing, she honored her life by providing a welcoming second home to her nieces and nephews, celebrating their lives and providing precious memories. She would want all to remember the good times, like the great lunches followed by a game of bridge. A passionate cook, she prepared everything with love and her “sweet tooth” allowed for many fabulous desserts. Mary maintained that stop signs were just a suggestion, a motto she applied to daily life and her driving skills! In all sincerity, she had sweetness in her soul, and elegance and class in her spirit. She always forged ahead, remaining fiercely loyal to her loved ones and faithful to her friends. She was always aware of her community and upheld her civic commitments. She wrote poetry as a way of journaling her innermost feelings for her beloved children and her thoughts about love itself. Mary was unmatched in her lifetime vocation of caregiving and providing a true heart and a warm home for many, including her beloved dogs; “it was her job to spoil her pets”. Mary’s home parish was St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. She found inner peace in the presence of Jesus and knew the power of his glory, a gift that uplifted her spirit and gave her the fortitude to face her adversities. Mary was one in a million and beloved by all who knew her. She was witty and grew wiser with age, and she enjoyed the laughter of life. Her love for her family and their love for her remained to the end. Those in her circle of life were beloved and blessed. Amen. Always present in her heart was the memory of her son, John Michael Parisi, who passed away on September 28, 1989; and she will be reunited with her two infant angels who have been awaiting her. Mary leaves behind to remember her legacy, her brother, Dr. Anthony and the recently deceased, Fede Falcone; nieces and nephews, Mary Bronga, James Bronga, Anne Bronga Snodgrass, John Bronga, and Thomas Bronga , Joseph Falcone , Barbara McManus and Deborah Bisnette, as well as her special niece who preceded her Joanne Bronga Robinson. In addition, she will be missed by her great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a host of wonderful friends throughout her life. She will be greeted in heaven by her family and friends including sister, Josephine (Falcone) Bronga; in-laws, Anthony and Pauline Parisi, Frank, Sr. and Teresa Parisi, and Mary Longo; and a special niece, Lola J Longo. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cape May, NJ who took great care of Mary during her time there. Visitation will be held on Friday morning, April 22, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Memorial contributions in Mary’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org/donate; envelopes will also be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 from the funeral home and at 12:00 noon at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay St. She will be laid to rest amongst generations of her family in Calvary Cemetery.
