Mrs. Marie J. (Payne) Bossone

Mrs. Marie J. (Payne) Bossone, age 90, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Katherine Luther Home. Born in Utica on January 30, 1926, Marie was the daughter of the late Anthony L. and Frances (Piccola) Payne. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On August 25, 1945 she married Ralph A. Bossone with whom she shared her heart and her happiness for 33 years. Ralph passed away on October 3, 1978. Marie managed to overcome adversities following the passing of her husband and was determined to become independent. To that end, she accepted a position with Oneida County in the Employment & Training Division. Her family marveled at her strength and commitment in returning to the workforce to meet the financial responsibilities of raising her children. A family oriented matriarch, Marie was selfless and always available to offer her unending concern and devotion to her loved ones. She was also a meticulous homemaker and a fantastic cook. During her spare time, she loved to read. She practiced her Catholic faith as a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Marie is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Barbara A. Zogby, and Elaine M. and Terrance F. Chambrone, all of Clinton; and her son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Carol L. Bossone of Albany. Always close to her heart was the memory of her son, Richard “Ricky” Bossone, who passed away on September 25, 1994. She will be remembered by her grandchildren, Peter Jr. and Angie Zogby, Amy Hope Zogby, Paul and Amy Zogby; Nicole and Loren Burns, Terrance and Melanie Chambrone; Michele and Christopher LaPierre, and Andrea Bossone and fiancé Michael Montejano; and her great-grandchildren, Luke, Roman, and Eli Zogby; Julianna Zogby; Richard Chambrone, Charlotte Chambrone; Asher LaPierre, Charis LaPierre, and Ava Montejano. She also leaves her sister, Doris Ernest of New Hartford; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law, Lillian Bossone. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Marie’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Tuesday morning at 10:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
