Lucinda M. "Cindy" Berg

Mrs. Lucinda M. “Cindy” (Williams) Berg, age 56, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on June 16, 1951, Cindy is the daughter of Clarence and Elvira (DeBernardis) Williams. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. On June 19, 1982 she married Tom J. Berg, and as a couple, they respected each other’s individuality and appreciated one another for over 25 years. An extremely loyal and dedicated employee of Time Warner Cable Co. for 30 years, Cindy held the position of customer service manager. She was blessed with a selfless nature, and her generosity touched family and friends alike. She was a perpetual planner of her life’s events and remembered others, especially on their birthdays, with her “cakes”. She opened her home, her heart, and earned the admiration of those whose lives she crossed during the journey of her life. But her greatest honor was to have raised her children and been proud of the relationship she shared with them and with her husband. During her leisure time, she enjoyed shopping and creative arts and crafts. As an accomplished baker, she liberally shared her baked goods with others. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Cindy is survived by her husband Tom; her daughter and son-in-law, Vera and Sam Valenti; her son, Tommy Berg, Jr.; her parents, Clarence and Elvira Williams; and her canine grandchild, Bella. Also surviving are her sisters and brother-in-law, Laurel and John Castano, and Lucia Koski; her brothers and sister-in-law, John Williams, and Tom and Jennifer Williams; her nieces and nephews, John Paul and Marie Castano; Heather, Hannah and Jack Williams; and Ryan and Elizabeth Koski; many cousins; and her aunts, uncles, and in-laws. She was also blessed with many friends and traveling ‘buddies’, including Dave and Delores Wojcik, Wendy and Kevin Leach, Jim and Marie Dick, Rosemary and Dave Stedman, and Carolyn and Howard Bushinger. She also leaves behind her treasured extended family, Barbara Alesandro and her late husband Frank, and their family. The entire family extends appreciation to Dr. Sultana Razia, Dr. John Crawford and his staff, Karen Rounds-Cleary, N.P., and the nurses at Slocum-Dickson for their encouragement and compassion; and to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. for their support. Visitation will be held Friday (today) from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St. corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Cindy’s funeral service will commence on Saturday morning at 8:30 from the funeral home and at 9:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Schuyler Cemetery.
