Lucille A. (Passaire) Visingardi

Mrs. Lucille A. (Passaire) Visingardi, age 75, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with the love and prayers of her family by her side. Born in Utica on May 31, 1937, Lucille was the daughter of the late Julius and Elvera (DiSpirito) Passaire. She was also blessed with the love and guidance of her step-father, the late Tommaso DiTrinca. She was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On July 21, 1956 she married Joseph J. Visingardi with whom she shared 51 years in a covenant of heart and soul, and a strong commitment to family life. Lucille was the love of Joseph’s life, and they were inseparable. They were true companions who shared everything with each other, especially laughter. As a mother, Lucille cared for the children with love and nurturing in her own unique way. She instilled in them the simple virtues of family life. Lucille was affectionately known to her grandchildren, family members, and friends as “Nonnie”. She enjoyed her retirement years and the trips she made to Atlantic City with her husband. She was very fond of family gatherings at their summer camp at Sylvan Beach. She found fun in Bingo, games of chance, and frequenting the casino. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Julieann Sylvester of New Hartford; her sons and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Celine Visingardi of New Hartford, and Joseph J. “Joey” Visingardi, Jr. and fiancée Robyn House of Utica; and her grandchildren, Ashley Rose Sylvester and Steve Rieben, James Henry Sylvester III, Janae Marie Sylvester, Marissa Celine Visingardi, Joseph Vincent Visingardi, Dominick Joseph Visingardi, and Gianna Nicole Visingardi; and Robyn’s son Danny Leon. In addition, she leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Critical Care Unit at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, especially acknowledging Dr. Mondom, and Ferid, and family physician Dr. Kevin McCormick for their professional care and expertise. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Lucille’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday morning at 9:30 from the funeral home and at 10:30 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Joseph Zareski. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
