Lillian M. Morosco

UTICA - Lillian M. Morosco, age 94, answered the call of the Lord as she passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Sitrin Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Utica on June 21, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J., Sr. and Rosina “Rose” (Vigna) Morosco. Lillian was educated in local schools. Throughout her life, she was employed by Smith’s Laundry, the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI), Eden Park Nursing Home, and the Mid-York Library System where she was awarded a Certification of Appreciation when she retired in 2004. Lillian loved to read, adored John Wayne and Frank Sinatra, and cherished her time with family and friends. She achieved Honorable Mention in the 36th Annual Senior Bowling League Tournament. A devout Catholic, she was a member of the St. Anne Society and the 3rd Order of St. Francis at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. She currently was a communicant of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Lillian always held close to her heart her son Louis A. Kallasy, Jr. who predeceased her on December 10, 1976 at the tender age of 15. They are now happily reunited in heaven. Lillian is survived by her sister-in-law Jennie Morosco; numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews. She also leaves many friends from her former home at the Marino-Ruggiero Apartments. Lillian was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Thomas J. Morosco Jr., Bernard and Angela Morosco, Joseph T. Morosco Sr., Frank A. Morosco, Florence and James Talerico, Mary and Earl McCollum, Elizabeth “Betty” and Vito Grasso, Rose and James “Vincent” DeKime, and Jane Morosco. Lillian’s family is grateful to the staff of the Chestnut Residence at the Sitrin Health Care Center for the care and concern afforded to her throughout her stay. The family commemorated her life at a private time. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lillian’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Joseph Salerno. Visitors will be received at the conclusion of the services. Donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word, 5821 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, Alabama 35210, founded by Mother Mary Angelica with a mission to evangelize the digital world with the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith.
