Lenora T. (Putrello) King

Lenora T. (Putrello) King, age 49, of Utica, went to her peaceful rest on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with the love and support of her family. Born in Utica on February 16, 1960, Lenora was the daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine (Talerico) Putrello. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of Whitesboro High School and also M.V.C.C. where she earned a culinary arts degree. A woman of great strength and character, she maintained her optimism in the face of her health adversity. She was a sacrificing and responsible person and she knew the blessings of being a mother which she held as a priority. She sought justice and humility in her own life and opened her home to many, offering assistance and friendship. Lenora was humble, modest, and loyal. When her children were in school she supported them by being a Girl Scout leader and coached track and field at Sacred Heart School. She will always be remembered as a positive thinker who accepted her physical limitations with courage and lived her life in service to her loved ones. Lenora is survived by her companion of 20 years, Michael Burns; her daughters, Nicole T. Putrello of Albany, and Georgia A. King of Utica; her sons and their families, Private 1st Class Jay King, U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, and Kyle and Amanda King of Westmoreland; and her grandchildren, Ahmar, and Anthony. Survivors also include her brothers and sister-in-law, Andy and Dolores Putrello of Utica, and Joseph Putrello of Thailand; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and several close and loving friends who blessed her life. She was predeceased by her nephew, Joey Putrello. The family is grateful to Dr. Raouf Kodsy, Dr. Mahesh Padmanabhan, Dr. William Jorgensen & Associates, St. Elizabeth Medical Center, the ICU nurses and staff, especially Corey, Rusty, and Gary for their outstanding compassion and dedication to Lenora as well as her family; and Sue Cooper who embraced all the needs of the family with such love and sincerity. A memorial gathering of Lenora’s family and friends will be held Saturday from 1:00-3:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Lenora’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Sister Elizabeth Giarrusso, CSJ officiating.
