Mr. Lawrence J. Fiorentino Jr.

Mr. Lawrence J. Fiorentino, Jr., age 64, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loving family at his side. Born in Utica on March 16, 1949, Lawrence was the son of the late Lawrence J. and Fay C. (Ruggiero) Fiorentino. He was raised and educated locally. At one time, he was wed to the former Rebecca Gibson. An insurance agent by trade, Lawrence was proud to be affiliated with DeAngelo & Associates Insurance. He was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. In his youth Larry was a weight lifter and body builder, winning recognition at numerous competitions; he enjoyed wine making and assisted at keeping other family food traditions alive. Making “sausage in the oil” was one such tradition. Larry will forever be remembered for his good natured spirit, which he maintained throughout his multiple hospital stays. The staff at St. Elizabeth’s will also remember him for his love of the Food Network on TV. Lawrence is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Steven and Megan Fiorentino, and Brian Fiorentino, all of Utica; and his grandson, Benjamin Fiorentino. He was joyously awaiting the arrival of a granddaughter, Mia, at the end of August. In addition, he leaves his sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Daniel Robertello of New Hartford; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Merry Fiorentino of Utica, and Ronald, Sr. and Norma Fiorentino of Clay; aunts and uncles, in particular his godmother, Rose Calaguiro; his many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends Russ Lupi, Frank Palmisano, and Jim Salamy. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff of the DeAngelo & Associates Insurance Company for providing their availability of comfort and respectful concern to their fellow employee during his illness. Visitation for will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00-11:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Lawrence’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday at 12:00 noon at St. John the Evangelist Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Joseph Zareski. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
