Karen E. (Flaherty) Goodson

UTICA - Karen E. (Flaherty) Goodson, age 60, passed away on September 2, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on March 30, 1962 to the late John “Jack” Flaherty and Sarah E. Yeomans, she also knew the love of her late step-father, Ralph A. Pasho. Karen spent her childhood in Utica and attended Utica Free Academy. After high school, she worked diligently at Genesee Nursing Home. Karen shared in a loving and longtime companionship for over 30 years with Richard Borruso. Karen will be remembered first and foremost as a good mother. Her children looked up to her, as she always remained close to them. Her funny and goofy nature shone through in her relationships with others, as she was a truly good friend. She loved keeping up with people over Facebook, and always wanted to help people whenever she could. Always one for a good time, she loved making casino trips with family and friends. She valued time and conversations she spent on the front porch with her neighbors and her dog. Karen will be greatly missed by her companion, Richard Borruso; and her children and their loves, Eric and Heather Pasho, Jessica Pasho and Alan Jones, Krista and Joseph Raiano, and Kayla Treen. Karen held close the memory of her beloved son, John Joseph “J-Dub” Pasho, who passed away on November 8, 2020. Her loss is also felt by her grandchildren, Ariyah Pasho, Addison Pasho; Marissa Madera, Jewelanna Jones, Alan “AJ” Jones, Jr.; twins Joseph and Anthony Raiano; Adrianna Danielle Pasho, John J. Pasho, Jr., Alexander Lucas Pasho; and Joseph Cavo, Jr. During her life, she cherished the memories of her infant granddaughter, Makarah Madera, who preceded her on November 30, 2005; and her grandson, Angelo Jones, who passed away on November 17, 2015. She is additionally survived by her siblings, Theresa and Kevin Edwards, Christy Pasho, Michael and Rebecca “Becky” Flaherty, and John Flaherty, and their families. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Karen’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately upon the conclusion of visitation. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. September 9, 2022.
