Judith E. "Jem" (Massucci) Pollard

Judith Evelyn "Jem" (Massucci) Pollard, age 51, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, in the comfort of the Siegenthaler Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. Born in Cobleskill, NY on May 29, 1955, Judy was the daughter of the late Richard Massucci, and the late Jesse and Ruby (Hennesse) Sutton. She was raised and educated locally. As a homemaker and neighborhood mom, Judy spent her time and effort raising her children and grandchildren. She led her children by example, teaching them the value of family and respect. She was an outgoing woman who valued honesty, understood a good joke, and truly valued life. She took great pleasure in visiting friends and relatives. She was amiable and steadfast with her acquaintances, and if Judy hugged you, you knew you were in her confidences. She was a communicant of Historic Old St. John’s Church. Judy was a dedicated mother to two sons and daughters-in-law, Fiore and Patty Massucci, and Constantino “Tino” Massucci and Darcie Raymo, all of Utica. In addition, her survivors include her grandchildren, Alexis Massucci, Ruby Massucci, and Fiore Massucci II; and her special friend Louise Robinson; her sisters and brothers, including Riccardo Massucci of Seward County, Reid Massucci of FL, DonnaMarie and Joseph Breakfield of NH, Bonnie Sook of Utica, Donald Sutton of Utica, Michael Sutton of NC, Douglas Sutton of Utica, Gary Sutton of Utica, and Bobbiejo Russell of NH; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; and her in-law, Bernard Rios of Utica. Judy will be dearly missed by many friends, with special mention of "Gramps" Willie Hargrove, Bob Harrington, Ramona and family, and Jason and Natalie. She was predeceased by her sisters, Toni P. (Sutton) Rios, and Jacqueline Sutton. The family offers its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Samir Desai and the staff at the Siegenthaler Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. and Judy’s many relatives and friends for their support. A special thanks is offerred to Andy Graziano for his acts of kindness. Visitation will be held today (Thursday) from 5-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Mrs. Pollard’s funeral will commence on Friday at 9:00 from the funeral home and at 10:00 at Historic Old St. John’s Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
