Josephine M. (Iaconiano) Lenge

Mrs. Josephine M. (Iaconiano) Lenge, age 88, of Whitesboro, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007, at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on January 14, 1919, Josephine was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Anna Rose (Allegretta) Iaconiano. She was raised and educated locally. On May 31, 1941 she married Sam T. Lenge who passed away on December 25, 2003. The couple was blessed with a compatible and loving relationship of 62 years. Josephine’s entire life revolved around her family. A wonderful grandmother, she will be best remembered for her presence and loving guidance in her grandchildren’s lives. She was happy and secure in her daily life, and her loved ones knew that being in her own home was of great comfort to her. Josephine is survived by her devoted daughter and caregiver, Ann Marie Nicotera and her companion Richard Slagel of Whitesboro; her adored and cherished grandchildren, Donna Nicotera of FL, Joy Ferrone of Whitesboro, Karla Nicotera of Clinton and her fiancée Kyle Hill, and Marc Nicotera of Utica; and her great-grandchildren, Marissa Capraro, Kristina Capraro, Private Erik Stevenson, David Ferrone, and Tiffany Ferrone. Her survivors also include her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and her feline friend “Kitty”. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Salvatore Nicotera; her sisters, Mary Iaconiano, Rose Berardi, Ersilia “Ciel” Iaconiano; her brother, Albert Iaconiano; and her Lenge in-laws. The family expresses thanks to Dr. William Ryan for his special attention to Josephine and her needs; family friend, Lorraine Angell for her visits and tokens of affection; and Father Abe Esper for his spiritual support. Ann Marie wishes to thank her family and dear friends for the respect and attention shown to her mother. Visitation will be held Tuesday (today) from 5:00 – 7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Josephine’s funeral service will commence on Wednesday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish at Mt. Carmel Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
