John A. Piccione

Mr. John A. Piccione, age 50, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center. Born in Utica on December 10, 1960, John is the son of Charles R. and Doris M. (Bowie) Piccione. He was raised in Utica and attended local schools. A good-hearted, respectful man, John never complained about his challenges and cared more about how others were doing. He was employed over the years at various local businesses. John was a devoted son, and his parents would look forward to his nightly phone call. His family will miss his cheerful conversation, and love of laughter. He was most proud of his family, especially his daughters and his grandchildren. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed body work and repair of cars. He pursued the outdoor sports of hunting and fishing, and he found pleasure in playing the guitar and listening to music. John is survived by his parents, Charles R. and Doris M. Piccione of Utica; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary-Rose and Joseph Abbott of TX; his daughter, Andrea Talerico and fiancé Mark Klein of Utica; and his daughters’ mother, Melissa; and his grandchildren, Jalyssa, Joseph Jr., Julian, and Mark, Jr. Survivors also include his sister, Sandra Piccione and family of Utica; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Piccione of Marcy, Michael and Kelly Piccione of Utica, Chuck Piccione of Barneveld and fiance Karen Prentice of Waterville, and Patrick and Ann Piccione of Utica, and their families; his aunts and uncles, with special mention of Florence Hamo and Rocky; his nieces and nephews, Karen, Richie, Justin, Anthony, Matthew, Jason, Danielle, Michael Jr, Nickole Piccione, Ryan D'Anna Dicamillo and Frank Sansone II; his cousin, Mary T. Zogby; and his many relatives and friends who were a part of his life. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Pasquale A. and Mary Rose Piccione; his maternal grandparents; his Aunt Francine Murphy, and Aunt Evelyn Biliven. The family is appreciative of the Loretto Home Staff for their years of care and compassion rendered to John. John’s family will honor and celebrate his life in a private gathering. His funeral service and Celebration of Life will also be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
