Mrs. Jane Elizabeth (Foster) Lindig

UTICA - Mrs. Jane Elizabeth (Foster) Lindig, age 83, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care Facility. At the time of her passing, she was in the hearts of those she loved. Born in Nelliston, NY on June 4, 1933, Jane was the daughter of the late Orion and Lillian (Bush) Foster. She was raised and educated in Nelliston and Herkimer. In 1952 she married Reinhold F. Lindig II with whom she shared 28 years prior to his passing on May 10, 1980. Jane cared for her home and family and she also worked at Abelove’s Laundry for over 24 years. She was a loving matriarch and the most important mission in her life was to make sure her children were safe, sound, and surrounded by love. She was generous to her family, offering her advice and support in any way she could. Her strong work ethic balanced with her strong will sustained her inner strength and stamina. Jane enjoyed watching sports, especially Yankee baseball. Jane is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Leonard Kennedy of Utica, Pamela and Earl Graves of Richfield Springs, and Tammy and Dale Bronson of Ohio, NY. She held close to her heart the memory of her daughter, Star Marie Waffle, who passed away on December 11, 1987. She also leaves her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Melissa Lindig of Utica, Reinhold III and Carol Lindig of North Carolina, Link J. Sr. and Missy Lindig, and James Lindig, all of Utica; her 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and a sister. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Willow Park Assisted Living and the Katherine Luther Residential Healthcare for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held Monday from 3:00-6:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Jane’s funeral service, Celebration of Life, and administration of the liturgical Rite of Baptism will commence on Monday evening at 6:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Fr. Abe Esper officiating the ceremony. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
