Mr. James A. "Jimmy" Taurisano

UTICA - Mr. James A. “Jimmy T.” Taurisano, age 45, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2018 in the comfort of his home. Born in Anaheim, California on June 7, 1973, James was the son of Robert “Bobby” Taurisano and the late Jeri (Leisenring) Taurisano. Raised and educated locally, he attended Albany St. Elementary School and was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1991. A roofer by trade, Jimmy worked for several local businesses. He was also affiliated with his dad as a bartender at Bobby T’s on James Street and at Spilka’s. A lovable man with a big heart, he was a respected “go-to” guy for many people. He was dependable and loyal to his family and devoted friends. Jimmy was a well-mannered, good son, and he loved his dad because he raised him as a single parent. He knew he could go to his dad for anything that mattered in his life. He was meticulous in his personal appearance and the upkeep of his home. Blessed with a big appetite, pasta was his favorite, and he definitively declared that his dad made the best sauce. Good friends shared his life, and great memories were made and enhanced by Jimmy’s comic relief! His great laugh will never be forgotten. He was a football fan, and the New York Giants was his favorite team. He and his son played football in the yard, shared walks, and he taught him to ride his bike. Jimmy held these scenes in his heart while he watched his son grow before his eyes. Jimmy had faith and believed in God. Jimmy is survived by his dad and best friend, Bobby; his children, Alyssa, (Close to his heart was the memory of his son, Justin Robert Evans-Taurisano who passed away on March 5, 2017), Anthony, and Salvatore; his sisters, Roseanne Co-Hatchard, Melissa Taurisano, Teri Lynn Taurisano, Brandin Schilingo, Deanna Taurisano, and Stephanie Taurisano. He also leaves his aunts and uncles, Anne Marie and Arthur Swinegar, Donna and Cosmo Pellegrino Jr., Carol Taurisano, Terry and Linda Leisenring, Bruce Leisenring, and Robert Leisenring; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; his friend Christina Jackson, and a ton of great pals. He was predeceased by his uncle Michael A. Taurisano, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Michael A. Sr. and Rose Taurisano; maternal grandparents, Robert Leisenring and Marion McKnight; and brother-in-law, David Lee “Dave” Conkling. The family extends their appreciation to the Utica Police Department, and Jimmy’s house mate Dan for their kindness and encouragement; and the staff of the Hobart Clinic, especially Dr. A. for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00-6:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Jimmy’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Friday evening at 6:00 at the funeral home upon the conclusion of visitation with Pastor David Ossenfort officiating the ceremony.
