Jaime M. (Hawkins) George

WHITESBORO – Jaime M. (Hawkins) George, age 34, went home in peace to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Jaime was born in New Hartford on September 4, 1987, to Thomas W. and Patricia A. (Femia) Hawkins. She attended Hughes Elementary School and was a graduate of New Hartford High School/Class of 2005. While there, Jaime enjoyed cheerleading and gymnastics, which were her sports. She had a great work ethic which began at Rosario’s East Utica. It was there that she learned responsibility and integrity. She went on to pursue higher education, studying at St. Elizabeth College of Nursing. After graduating and passing the NYS Boards to become a Registered Nurse, Jaime began her career at MVHS at St. Luke’s Healthcare in the Critical Care and the ICU units, where she compassionately tended to many COVID patients during the pandemic. She also worked for the Visiting Nurses’ Association and most recently accepted a position as the school nurse at Myles Elementary School, where Jaime loved tending to the kids. Jaime married Joseph M. George, and to her delight, received the greatest and two most precious gifts, that of her two children. She had always wanted to be a mom and was incredibly nurturing as one. Jaime moreover went above and beyond to instill respect and manners in her kids. She was Mama to Olivia and JoJo, and nothing could separate them. They were the core of her being. An incredibly thoughtful and selfless woman, Jaime was determined to make as many positive memories as she could, and she did! These memories included family vacations with her husband, parents, siblings, and all the kids. Those trips were the greatest gift they could give one another and fostered many lifelong memories. Those who were blessed to see her often found Jaime with a smile on her face and kindness in her heart. She was a pleasure to be around and was often referred to as the life of the party! An avid runner, Jaime often sought adventure and had even completed several Boilermaker Road Races. In her childhood, she had been introduced to camping with her family, mostly at Nick’s Lake. The trips created unforgettable memories of campfires, s’mores galore, hiking, boating and walking in the beauty of the Adirondacks. Jaime harbored a special love for the holidays when all her loved ones gathered together to honor the day and celebrate. Jaime was spiritual and knew the Lord. Jaime leaves behind her precious children, Olivia Rae, age 5, and Joseph “JoJo” Michael, age 3; her husband, Joseph; and her parents, Thomas and Patricia Hawkins. She will live on in the hearts of her sisters and brothers-in-law, Tricia and Matthew Pezdek, and Kimberly and Michael Capasso, as well as their children: Michael Thomas Capasso, and her Goddaughter, Emmy Rose Capasso. Jaime will be fondly remembered by her mother-in-law, Claudette George; her father-in-law, Yousef George; her sister-in-law, Nicole George; and she held close to her heart her late niece, Miabella Rose George (2020). She leaves behind uncles, aunts, cousins, and her loving Godmother, Sandy Gaetano. Because of who Jaime was, she was blessed with numerous wonderful friends; however, she had declared her mom her bestie! Jaime was predeceased by her grandparents, who now embrace her. The family is so grateful to their family and friends who have been so kind and supportive. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jaime’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will be held on Saturday morning, June 4, 2022 at 11:00 at St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of the service. In lieu of floral offerings, donations in Jaime’s memory may be made to the family enabling them to establish an education fund for her children; envelopes will be available at the service. Private interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery.
