Francine Marie Zammiello

UTICA - On June 4, 1951, Francine Marie Zammiello was born to Bernard “Bill” and Olivia (Latini) Zammiello. Her addition to our family made our family blessed. Francine brought us humor and unconditional love. Her smile and laughter was infectious. To everyone who met her, personally or professionally – loved and cherished her friendship. Francine was educated in the Utica City School District, graduated from MVCC, and received her master's from SUNY POLY in computer science. She worked at MVCC for many years, retiring from Herkimer Community College as Director of Network Services. Francine loved family and placed the importance of them above all else. She loved her catholic faith, Italian heritage, traditions, and kept many of them alive after we lost our parents in 2005. Francine was the apple of her Nana’s eye and to our parents a source of pride and joy. While Francine loved to have the holiday dinners, or just dinners, at her home, the times she truly enjoyed was the preparation of it all. Francine always said those times preparing for those dinners were the lasting memories. Francine loved to travel, especially with her favorite travel companion, her niece Jennifer. She shared many trips with her niece Michelle, and her travels and love grew larger with the addition of great-nephew and great-niece Thomas and Olivia. They made her life complete. Francine also shared a wonderful friendship and casino travels with Clareen Miserentino and Tom Shelby. Francine shared every aspect of our lives. There was not a day that we were truly apart from her. Francine was one of the most loving and gracious people in our family. She was a true friend to all. We lost her on January 19, 2026, we love her, and we will miss her. Francine leaves behind her sister and part of her soul, Bernadette (Zammiello) DiMeo, and brother-in-law, Michael; niece, Michelle (DiMeo) Smith and her children Thomas Michael, and Olivia Michelle; and niece, Jennifer DiMeo and her husband Emmett Catanese. She is additionally survived by her beloved Aunt MaryJane Zammiello; cousins, Frank and Tina Zammiello, Theodore “Teddy” and Cynthia Zammiello, Maryann and Brian Snow, and all their children, Frank and Leda, Anthony and Sarah and their children, Mackenzie, Eagan, Julian and Kendal and their children, Julian, Jonah, Claire, “Cee Cee,” Sarah and Mario, Milo, and Aiza, Teddy and his daughter Katarina, and John and Corinne Horvath – all who were a large part of her life; as well as cousins, Patricia (Zammiello) and James Gigliotti, and Laurie (Zammiello) and Lee Hayes and their children, Paola and Ivano Cargnello, Ben and Adele Vellucci, Filomena Vellucci, and Carolina and Peter Willshire, and their children who reside in Canada. Francine was predeceased by her parents, Bernard “Bill” and Olivia Zammiello; paternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Zammiello; maternal grandparents, Rita and Amelicare Latini; uncle, Alfonso Zammiello; uncle and aunt, Pasquale “Chuck” and Eleanor Zammiello; uncle, Frank R. Zammiello; and cousin, Chuckie Zammiello. Francine’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the response team of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department for their compassion, professionalism, and kindness during a most difficult time. Sincere appreciation is also extended to Drs. Bhisham Garg and Samir Desai, and the staff of the Wynn Hospital Emergency Department, whose caregivers were truly outstanding. A special thank you is offered to Nevi, whose nursing care, affection, and genuine compassion brought comfort to Francine and her family and will always be remembered. The family is also deeply grateful to the caregivers of the 3rd Floor ICU. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Memorial contributions in Francine’s honor may be made to St. Mary’s Church online at www. stmarys-clinton.com or the Central NY Veteran’s Outreach Center to the Attention of Mr. Vincent Scalise, in remembrance of her father, online at www.ucdevelopment.org; envelopes will also be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Francine’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 12 Marvin St., Clinton. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery in her family’s gravesite. This obituary was lovingly composed by Francine’s sister, Bernadette.
