Mrs. Evelyn M. Falvo

Mrs. Evelyn M. (Pucine) Falvo, age 88, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born in Utica on April 18, 1927, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Theresa (Nole) Pucine. She was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School with the class of 1944. On August 20, 1949 she married Anthony J. “Tony” Falvo, Jr. with whom she shared 64 loving years as true companions prior to his passing on October 21, 2013. Evelyn was the center of her family’s hearts. Her greatest joy was having family around her, and everyone felt at home at Evelyn’s happy home. During her leisure time, she loved to play the “slots”. Evelyn held a deep faith and spirituality in her Catholic creed. Evelyn is survived by her children and their loved ones, Francis and Christine Falvo of Rome, Terese and Jan Malek of Herkimer, Christine Maslona and Richard Szymanski of Liverpool, and Daniel and Diane Falvo of Marietta, GA. Always close to her heart were the memories of her sons, James A. Falvo, and Anthony J. Falvo III; and her son-in-law, John S. Maslona, all of whom preceded her in death. She will also be remembered by her daughter-in-law, Joanne Falvo of Utica; her 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Merinda Pucine of Liverpool, and Angelo and Vanessa Pucine of Utica. Her extended family includes her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Lenore Falvo, Eugene N. Falvo, and Nick Abdou. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Abdou; her brothers, Francis, and Richard J. Pucine; as well as siblings and spouses of her late husband, Anthony. The family is grateful to the Masonic Care Community of NY, especially the amazing staff of the Saranac Household who graced, enriched, and renewed Evelyn’s life through their many kind gestures; they will remain in the hearts of her children for all of their wonderful deeds. Also to the entire staff at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center who provided care to Evelyn during her numerous stays. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00-5:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Evelyn’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Joseph Salerno. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
