Erminia Margaret "Minnie" (Mallozzi) Trino

Mrs. Erminia Margaret “Minnie” (Mallozzi) Trino, age 77, of Utica, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2006, at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with the comfort of her family by her side. Born in New York, NY on April 13, 1929, Minnie was the daughter of the late Zeferino “Jimmy” and Stella (Rosi) Mallozzi. At the age of 10 she moved to Utica, where she attended grammar school locally and graduated from T.R. Proctor High School in 1947. On May 28, 1949 she married her high school boyfriend, Anthony R. “Doc” Trino, and from that union came a daughter Edythe Denise Trino who was adored by her parents. At one time Minnie was employed at Kemble School. She later worked at Friedlander Insurance Agency, retiring in 1993 after 18 years of loyal service. Minnie was an extremely responsible woman which enabled her to accept the roles of wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and daughter-in-law with the greatest regard. She was generous of spirit, kind in her actions, perceptive of people’s needs, and excelled at whatever she did. Minnie was a seasoned cook who sang while she prepared her original dishes daily. She took pleasure in her monthly luncheon meetings with the “girls” from Proctor Class of ’47. A very devoted and religious woman, Minnie had a reverence for the celebration of mass. Mrs. Trino is survived by her loving and devoted husband Anthony “Doc”; her precious daughter, Edythe “Edye” Trino, who was not only devoted, but also her best friend; her sister, Anna M. Perritano; her special nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she truly adored: Diane and Marty Broccoli and their children Nicole and Stephany (with whom she shared a great closeness); Elaine and Donald Geary and their children Christopher and Kimberly; Ann and Brian Hughes; Laureen and Craig Howard and children; Anne R. Sullivan; Anthony and Lisa Zumpano; Michael and Samantha Zumpano; Dean and Jennifer Zumpano; Debbie and Tony Rinaldi; Richard and Cindy Jackson and; Donald and Bonnie Jackson and their respective families. Her extended family includes special cousins Virginia and John Cecilia and family of Utica, Angelo and Carmella Mallozzi of CT, and Benny and Netta Mallozzi of CT; and her in-laws, Anne R. Sterling of Utica, Angela M. and Richard Jackson of VA, and Victor Trino of FL. Minnie was also blessed with many wonderful friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Anna Trino, and in-laws Dominick Perritano, and Joseph Sterling. The family extends its appreciation to Dr. Mathew J. Ulahannan, and the 5th floor nursing staff and aides at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center. Their kindness and compassion was beyond expectation, and the love and respect they showed Minnie and her entire family will not be forgotten. Gratitude is expressed also to the Utica Fire Dept. ambulance staff for their promptness and concern. A special thank you is offered to Father Rose who has been a compassionate spiritual advisor to Minnie. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Mrs. Trino’s funeral service will commence on Thursday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish at Mt. Carmel Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
