Elizabeth C. "Liz" (Raspante) Fiorillo

Mrs. Elizabeth C. “Liz” (Raspante) Fiorillo, age 62, of Whitesboro, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on May 7, 1945, Liz was the daughter of Frank Raspante and the late Mary (Neri) Raspante. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On March 5, 1966 she married Norman L. Fiorillo, with whom she shared a 39 year union filled with mutual love and devotion until his passing on May 15, 2005. A loving woman, proud of her family and devoted to her home, Liz was compassionate by nature, and altruistic in her desire to put others first. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was affectionately known as “mama”. Her world revolved around her loved ones, and she shared special relationships with all of them. They were all proud to have her as their best friend and she was most happy in the company of her family. As an excellent listener with a kind heart, a quiet demeanor, and a sincere attitude, Liz was never heard to speak a derogatory word about anyone. She was steadfastly loved by her family, well-liked by her friends, and respected by all. She will be deeply missed. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Liz is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Michele M. Lonczak of Utica, Daina C. Fiorillo of Whitesboro, and Mary E. and David M. Renodin of New Hartford; and her cherished grandchildren, Marissa, Frank, and Salvatore. Her survivors also include her father, Frank Raspante, Jr.; her sisters and brother-in-law, Frances and Edward Medici of Whitesboro, and Barbara Reile of Clark Mills; her brother, Frank Raspante III of Ilion; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins; in-laws, Phyllis Martin of Utica, and Nancy and Ronald Darling of Utica; and special family friend, Frank Noti. She also leaves her faithful canine companion, Caesar. She was predeceased by her brother in-law, James Martin. The family extends appreciation to all family members for their support, comfort, dedication, and kindness. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Elizabeth’s funeral service will commence on Tuesday morning at 8:30 from the funeral home and at 9:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish at Mt. Carmel Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
