Mrs. Elizabeth"Betty" (Gaudin) Sadallah

Elizabeth “Betty” (Gaudin) Sadallah, of New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 with the love and support of her family by her side. She was born in Harrisburg, NY; the daughter of the late Francis and Jessie (Klock) Gaudin. She was raised and educated in the Old Forge area. On December 3, 1944 she was married to Albert Sadallah; they were not only partners in life, but they shared the vision and hard work as entrepreneurs. Betty and Al owned and operated “Big Al’s” Restaurant for many years, and many would remember her for her boundless energy and knowledgeable culinary talents as their Chef. Betty could multitask and manage her duties to perfection and all knew of her desire to please her customers with quality and delectable meals. Her husband passed away in 1982, and she continued their legacy until the closing of their family business. She was also a valuable and precious mother, grandmother, and sister. She guarded those closest to her with care and unconditional love, and touched their hearts like no one else could. Betty is survived by her daughters, Christine Linder of Queens, and Jacqueline “Jackie” LaZore of Whitesboro and friend Bill Burney of Deerfield; her sons and daughters-in-law, Allan C. and Wendy Sadallah, and James and Melissa Sadallah, all of New Hartford; her grandchildren, Chance and Julie Linder, Benjamin and Connie Linder and Keith and Petra Linder; Thomas K. LaZore, III, Elizabeth Lazore, Nikolette LaZore, and Justin Thomas LaZore; Kayla Sadallah, Nicholas Cassidy, and Emily Cassidy; Colby Sadallah, and Tyler Sadallah; and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Leo Bienkowski, and Maxine Morgan; her brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Sheila Gaudin, and Maylen and Judy Gaudin; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Larry Cellini, Al Soron, Lee Gaudin, Carol Gaudin, Rosalie Sadallah, and Vera Sadallah; and special mention of her friend and hairdresser Linda, as well as her husband Jim. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marian Cellini, and Barbara Soron; brothers, Raymond Gaudin, and Ronald Gaudin; and her son-in-law, Thomas K. LaZore, Jr. The family is grateful to the nurses of the Allen Calder and CCU units of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center whose compassion was of great comfort during Betty’s short illness. It was Betty’s wishes that her life be celebrated privately, and to remember her kindness and unconditional love.
