Donald T. Witchley, Sr.

Mr. Donald T. Witchley, Sr., age 60, of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Utica on September 25, 1947, Donald was the son of the late Donald F., Sr. and Pearl (Perritano) Witchley. Raised and educated locally, he graduated from T. R. Proctor High School in 1965. It was on August 19, 1967 in Blessed Sacrament Church he married the former Nancy Fuller with whom he shared a blessed union of 40 years. During his 39-year career at Oneida Limited, Donald was a supervisor and also held a position in the sales office prior to his retirement. He was a caring individual whose life revolved around his family, especially his grandchildren. Donald was a private individual who led a simple life. He and his grandson Donald III were avid model train hobbyists, and he also enjoyed fishing at Canadarago Lake in Richfield Springs with his little princesses, Jessica and Danielle. He was a seasoned golfer who played the sport with his granddaughter Danielle, and he was also a car enthusiast. Donald is survived by his beloved wife Nancy; his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald T., Jr. and Celeste Witchley, and David R. and Kimberly Witchley, all of New Hartford; his grandchildren, Danielle Witchley, Jessica Witchley, and Donald T. Witchley, III; and his grand-puppy Charlie. Also surviving are his sisters and brother-in-law, Denese Zammiello of Utica, and Deborah and Anthony Monescalchi of Schuyler; his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Robert and Frances Fuller, Carol Yearby, Bonnie and Britt Yearby, all of Utica, and Marlene and Richard Ruskey of Deerfield. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Ella Fuller; and his brother-in-law, Rocco A. Zammiello, Sr. The family extends thanks to Dr. Atul Butala and his office staff, and the nurses and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center for their care and attention. In keeping with Donald’s wishes there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Donald's Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday at 12:00 noon at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the service. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Donald’s honor to the American Cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the service. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
