Dianne Patricia Patterson

Dianne Patricia Patterson, age 55, of Utica., New York, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 4, 2013. Born in Aiken, South Carolina on August 25, 1957, Dianne was the daughter of Isalene (Cave) and the late Tarldon Patterson. She was raised and educated in Aiken until the age of 12 at which time she and her family relocated to Utica. She attended Utica public schools and graduated from Thomas R. Proctor High School. She continued her education at Utica College and MVCC. Dianne held various positions during her working years, however, her passion in life was to be a caregiver, a job for which her innate sensitivities were well-suited. Just this past December she graduated from the Certified Community Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program and also received her Home Health Aide (HHA) Certification. Dianne was very outgoing, generous and forgiving. She was outspoken and lived up to her own moral compass. She was blessed with the ability to make others smile with her wit and upbeat personality. Dianne loved her family and friends and they loved her. She often enjoyed gathering with them for old laughs and a game of cards. She loved life. She enjoyed going fishing, visiting the elderly, sightseeing and cooking. Dianne’s pride and joy was her son Darnell. She also loved spending time with her mother and brightening her days. Truly Dianne made an everlasting impact on those who knew her The memories of her carefree spirit, smile and antics will bring cheer and comfort forever. Needless to say, she will be greatly missed. Dianne leaves to cherish her memories, her only son, Dennis Darnell Evans (Carlandra Wooding), of Orlando, FL; mother, Isalene Patterson; sisters, Marylene (Wyatt) Jones of Woodbridge, VA and Regina Patterson of Utica, NY; brothers, Charles Patterson of Orlando, FL and Cleveland Patterson of Los Angeles, CA; aunts, Mary Lee (Ulysses) Jones, and Magalene McRae of Utica, NY, Pauline (Daniel) Williams of Hardeeville, SC, Barbara Cave and Bertha Cave of Utica, NY; uncles, Robert Cave of FL, Larry Cave and Ronnie Cave of Utica, NY; nieces, Olivia Washington of Utica, NY and Kala (Gary) and their children, Mark and Dana of Frederick, MD; a host of cherished cousins and friends, with special mention of Samuel Jackson. She was predeceased by Darnell’s father, Dennis J. Evans, her maternal and fraternal grandparents respectively, Ivery Lee and Shedrack Cave, and Junious and Leona Patterson. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Lighthouse Baptist Church. Her Home Going Service will commence on Saturday at 1:00 PM immediately thereafter with Pasto Paul Bannister officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street Utica, NY.
