Ms. Delores M. "Dee" Bianco

UTICA – Ms. Delores M. “Dee” Bianco, age 97, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, after awaiting the presence of the Lord and all His saints. Born in Utica on September 9, 1927, Delores was the daughter of the late Louis and Maria (DiNigro) Bianco. As a rather young woman, Delores was fortunate and blessed to know the love and guidance of her brothers and sister, Pete, Rocco, and Rose, who were instrumental in providing her with a loving home and sharing valued teachings. Dee fondly remembered the education she received while attending the legendary Brandegee Elementary School. An industrious woman, Dee began her career as a member of the maintenance staff at Griffiss Air Force Base. She then held employment with the General Electric Co. at their Bleecker St. plant as an assembler and team leader until its closing. One of her most rewarding positions was working as a school bus driver for Birnie Bus for the Utica City School District. She truly enjoyed chauffeuring the students to their destinations. She loved their smiles and laughter which never failed to elevate her spirit. Dee was a sensitive, trusting, loving and forgiving person who always saw the good in other people. She possessed a warm and gentle smile that displayed an innate kindness from her soul. She also had a marvelous sense of humor, which was ignited whenever others made her laugh. A pet person through and through, Dee had a special affinity for dogs. She frequently asked about everyone else’s pets and whenever a dog came to visit, she was in her glory! During her time at the Masonic Care Community of NY, she was a very active resident. She liked attending the horticultural center visits, participating in art classes, and playing bingo or a good game of pitch. She also took part in group trips to the casino and enjoyed restaurant outings. Throughout her entire life, the Lord lived in Delores’ heart. She faithfully prayed the rosary, reverently received Holy Communion, and attended weekly Mass. Proverbs 3:6 – “In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” Delores held close to her heart the memories of her siblings and their spouses who preceded her, Peter and Frances Bianco, Rocco and Christine Bianco, Rose and George Maida, and Josephine and Daniel Senzarino. Her memory will be cherished by her many nieces and nephews; and her “cousins,” Carmenann Guarnieri and Jody Guarnieri, two sisters who attended to Dee with much love. Dee appreciated and remembered the many friendships she amassed throughout her life. Gratitude is extended to the Saranac and Westchester Households at the Masonic Care Community of NY—especially CNAs Emily and Tasha—for their compassionate and faithful care of Dee. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Delores’ Memorial Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life, which will commence on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Historic Old St. John’s Church, 240 Bleecker St. Memorial contributions in Delores’ honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org/donate or Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society online at www.anitas-sshs.org.donate; envelopes will also be available at the service.
