Mr. Dale Terrance Holmes

Mr. Dale Terrance Holmes, just shy of his 31st birthday, went home to the Lord when he passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loving family at his side. Born in Utica on October 1, 1985, Dale was the son of Robert Dingle and Brenda Holmes. As a child, he lived in California and returned to Utica as a youth. He attended Donovan Junior High and JFK High School. Dale was a thoughtful and caring person. He had a sense of humor that evoked laughter. He was a free spirit and an independent soul. Dale was challenged by ill health and kidney disease during his years, but he was blessed with good friends who took care of his days. He enjoyed watching television and he loved to dance at gatherings — he had all the right moves! And at family reunions, he usually won the dance contest. He loved Christmas time when everyone got together. He loved to eat, and when his “beautiful” grandma who loved him so much made his favorite meal - spaghetti - life was good. Dale knew the Lord and talked to him in the silence. Dale is survived by his parents, Robert Dingle, and Brenda Williams; his grandparents, Pauline Dingle, and Eleanor Holmes; and a host of family and friends, including his brother, Robert Holmes; and his sisters, Eleanor “NayNay” and husband Michael Jackson; and Joselynn Dingle. He had a great closeness with some of his cousins whom he considered sisters, including Melissa Prest, Ginger Holmes, and Beatrice Holmes. He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Anaja, Robert Jr., and Shania; Oliver, Amaria, Montese, twins Roman and Violet; Jaylen and Jayda; cousins, aunts and uncles, Tenell Morehand, Ronald Dingle, Karen and Kelvin Boykin, Alicia Dingle, John J. Dingle Jr.; Dale and Julie Holmes; many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-aunts and great-uncles; and the friendship of Lori Carter and Edward Harris. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Bobby Holmes; his paternal grandfather, John Dingle, Sr.; his uncles, Lawrence Dingle, and Brian Holmes; and his niece, Lynn’iya Serenity Holmes. The family is sincerely grateful to the personnel of the Dialysis Unit at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care Center for their continuous concern and compassion in caring for Dale. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 8, from 1-3pm at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Dale's funeral service and Christian Celebration of Life will commence at 3:00 immediately upon conclusion of visitation. Interment will take place in New Forest Cemetery.
