Beatrice "Bea" (Hunt) Piccione

Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” (Hunt) Piccione, age 80, formerly of Graffenburg Rd. and currently a resident of the Lutheran Home, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Lutheran Home. Born in Longview, Texas on September 29, 1926, Bea was raised and educated there prior to relocating to Utica. On March 24, 1944, she married Louis R. Piccione, Sr. with whom she shared a 60 year union prior to his passing on June 4, 2004. The couple was blessed with a mutual regard and devotion for each other. Early in her working life, she was employed in the retail sales of women’s apparel at the Three Sisters Shop. She then began an affiliation with Mary Kay Cosmetics which blossomed into a 30 year career as Sales Director. In fact, she earned the first pink Cadillac in New York and garnered many awards as a result of her dynamic work ethic. Sociable and ladylike, Bea was in charge of the Red Hat Society at the Lutheran Home and was responsible for the group’s activities. At one time she was a member of the Mother’s Club at Blessed Sacrament Church. She was of the Catholic faith. Bea is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Aceto-Pirro and her husband Donald of Syracuse, and Linda and Rodney Leyk of Arizona; always close to her heart was the memory of her daughter Kathleen Spiridilozzi who passed away on September 27, 1998; her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles “Chas” and Dawn Piccione of Remsen, Louis R., Jr. and Maryanne Piccione of Long Island, and James “Monk” Piccione of Remsen. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Melissa and Robert Rood, Peter John Aceto III, Justin Piccione, Jessica Piccione, Eli Piccione, Paige Piccione, Rebecca Spiridilozzi, Adam Spiridilozzi, her late grandson Brian C. Alam, Jr., who passed away on May 5, 1992, Michael and Patty Mancini, Matthew and Trisha Mancini, Frankie Piccione, Renee and Robert Loufler, Jeremy Piccione, and Brittany Piccione; her 6 great-grandchildren; and her son-in-law, Salvatore Spiridilozzi. Also surviving are her sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Burgin, and Virginia and Richard Dortch; her brothers and sisters-in-law, James Walter and Martha Hunt, and Ross Jefferson and Dorothy Hunt; her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Rocco A. Piccione, Florence Hamo, and Charles R. and Doris Piccione. She was predeceased by her siblings, Edward Malnar, Thelma Brown, Erma Bowles, and Billy Ray Hunt The family wishes to thank the staff at the Lutheran Home for the care and concern offered to Bea during her stay. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service which will be held Monday morning at 11:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Salerno officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
