Anthony S. "Tony" Bumbolo

Mr. Anthony S. “Tony” Bumbolo, age 50, of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 with his loving family by his side. Born in Utica on December 1, 1956, Anthony was the son of the late Michael, Sr. and Rose (Zampa) Bumbolo. He was raised and educated locally. Tony was a maintenance worker for a number of years at the Coolidge complex in Syracuse. He was blessed with a strong and courageous will, balanced with an easy going and humorous personality. He loved his grandchildren and took great pride in them. During his spare time, he skillfully worked on automobiles and was known as “the family mechanic”. He looked forward to coffee hour at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Karen. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Tony is survived by his children and their families, Nina and Carmelo Gusmano of FL, Maria and John Sadlek of FL, Anthony Bumbolo of Utica, and Jessica Roman of Schenectady; and his grandchildren, Jason, Anthony, Lauren, Daniel, Ericka, Gary, and Tyler. Survivors also include his brothers and sister-in-law, Richard Zampa, Michael Bumbolo, Jr., Joseph and Karen Bumbolo, and Grant Bumbolo, all of Utica; his sisters and brother-in-law, RoseAnn and Lansing Cowley, and Michelle Bumbolo, all of Utica, Carmella Lindsey of Herkimer, and Katherine Bumbolo of Utica; his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, his special friend, Celeste Pilkington of AR, and friends Carrie and Donna Gokey of the Michael Walsh Apartments. He was predeceased by his nephew, Officer Thomas Lindsey. The family offers appreciation to Annie and Darren of the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Dr. Thomas Ryan, and Dr. Alicia M. DeTraglia, and a special thank you to all the family members who assisted in Tony’s care throughout his illness. Visitation will be held Friday (today) from 4:00-6:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Tony’s honor to the Faxton Regional Cancer Center; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Tony’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish.
