Ann M. Sbiroli

Ann M. “Auntie Ann” Sbiroli, age 77, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 4, 2007, at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on April 13, 1930, Ann was the daughter of the late Leo and Nancy “Nellie” (Pepe) Sbiroli. Raised and educated locally, she attended T. R. Proctor High School. For many years Ann was employed by Abelove Laundry until her retirement. Known affectionately to her family as “Auntie Ann”, her nurturing manner extended beyond that circle to all those who knew her goodness. She will be remembered for her many acts of kindness, her willingness to help others in their time of need, and her good intentions in sharing the concerns of her loved ones. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Ann is survived by her sister, Theresa Schreck of Sauquoit; her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Dolores Sbiroli of Utica; although not blessed with children, she adored and loved her nieces and nephews as her own, Frank and Yvette Sbiroli, Daniel Sbiroli, Gary John Sbiroli, Linda Sbiroli, Sandy and Mark Colosimo, Cynthia and Richard Nimey, Donna Lux, John Jr. and Mary Alice Schreck, Dawn and Barry Furner, Darleen and Steven Philpotts, and David and Charlene Sbiroli. She also leaves her great-nieces, great-nephews, and in-laws, including her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Sbiroli, and Concetta Massa. She was blessed with many friends, especially at the Mt. Carmel Apartments. She was predeceased by her brothers, Leonard D. Sbiroli, and Carmen Sbiroli; and her brother-in-law, John Schreck, Sr. The family extends thanks to the Faxton-St. Luke’s Emergency Department physicians and staff for their kindness during their most difficult moments. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Ann’s funeral service will commence on Wednesday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish at Mt. Carmel Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery.
