Ann B. (Pike) Waterman

Ann B. (Pike) Waterman, age 64, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in the comfort of her home. Her passing occurred with the love and support of her family by her side. Born in Rome, NY on August 6, 1945, Ann was the daughter of the late H. Everett and Bernice (LaRouche) Pike. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. She furthered her education by attending the Marcy School of Nursing where she earned her New York State license as a Registered Nurse upon her graduation in 1968. A proud United States veteran, Ann served her country as a lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. At one time, she was married to Mac H. N. Waterman, and from this relationship came the blessing of two children and a respectful bond that was honored throughout their 40 year friendship. Along with serving her country, Ann also enjoyed serving her community through her work as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. She was a humble, caring, non-judgmental person, and she was gracious in giving her love and support to anyone facing adversity. During her spare time, she loved to read. She was known as an “awesome person” and was happiest sitting around the kitchen table with her family, sharing endless conversation with those she loved. A woman of very strong faith in the Lord, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Waterman and partner Beth Pinto; and her son, Bradley N. Waterman, all of Utica; her granddaughter Samantha Ann Waterman and companion KaShaun Burks; and her great-grandchildren, RaShondan, and Niyanna who affectionately knew her as Nonnie. She also leaves her many dear friends. The family sends heartfelt thanks to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., especially acknowledging Ann’s nurse, Julie Milograno, for the compassion and respect rendered to Ann. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ann’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Friday morning at 9:00 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc.; envelopes will be available at the service. Ann’s loved ones bid their farewells in a private gathering. Committal prayers will be held graveside with full Military Honors offered by the United States Army and Boonville Marine Corps League at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
