Miss Anna Haddad

Miss Anna Haddad, of NY Mills, currently a resident of The Pines at Utica, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with the love and support of her family. Born in Utica, Anna was the daughter of the late Edward and Sarah (Haddad) Haddad. Raised and educated in Utica, she attended T. R. Proctor High School. Anna was a hard-working and conscientious employee. She began her career at International Computers Limited (ICL), and subsequently worked at PAR Technology as an electronic assembler until her retirement. Anna served her family community as well as her faith community, and her devotion to her Church and heritage was very important to her well being. She was proud of her religious affiliation and her spirituality was a testimony to the love she possessed for her Church. She enjoyed holiday celebrations and church gatherings where she could be counted on to prepare delectable meals. A caring woman, many would remember her phone calls just to “keep in touch”. She was also a talented seamstress. Anna was a lifelong member of St. George’s Antiochian Orthodox Church and a member of the Parish Council, holding the office of recording secretary for over 30 years. She served as Choir Director for many years and was active with the Antiochian Women’s Organization and the St. Ignatius of Antioch Christian Mission. At one time she was a member of the Country Club Court Senior group. Anna is survived by several nieces and nephews who are cherished dearly; great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law, Bertha Haddad of N. Utica; and her dear friends, Lillian Pearson, and Jeannine Foppes. She was predeceased by her two infant siblings; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Frieda H. and Edward L. Marron, and Rose Haddad-Tahan and husband James A. Tahan; and her brother, George C. Haddad. The family is grateful to the staff members of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center Intensive Care Unit who were very caring and devoted to Anna; thanks also to Dr. Jorge Ferreiro, Dr. Dilip Kachare, and Dr. Toufik Farkouh for the professional guidance rendered to Anna and her family; and Pastors Rev. James Guirguis and Rev. David Smith for their spiritual guidance. A time of gathering for Anna's family and church community will be held on Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 at St. George's Antiochian Orthodox Church on the corner of South Street and Brinckerhoff Avenue. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Service which will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at St. George's Antiochian Orthodox Church. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to St. George’s Antiochian Orthodox Catholic Church in lieu of floral offerings; envelopes will be available at the service. Committal prayers and interment will follow graveside at New Forest Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
