Angeline M. Graziano

Angela M. Graziano, a Utica resident who celebrated her 100th birthday this past Friday, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2006, at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center after a brief illness. Born in Utica on February 3, 1906, Angela was the daughter of the late Carmen and Josephine (Scalise) Graziano. She was raised here and attended local schools. During the course of her working career, she was employed for many years with the Oneita Knitting Mill and also for an extensive period of time with Lynch & Kelly. Her final place of employment was Broadacres Skilled Nursing Facility where she served a 10-year tenure as a Nurse's Aide. Angela was a hard-working individual with a kind and generous heart. One of her favorite activities was baking, and she especially enjoyed sharing her baked goods with family and friends. In addition, she loved to travel and had been to many places in the U.S. In fact, at one time she made a most memorable cross-country journey, during which she visited numerous scenic locations and places of interest. She had also traveled to Italy. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. Miss Graziano is survived by her nieces and nephews, especially acknowledging Carmen Graziano, Philomena "Phyllis" and Michael J. Colacicco, Rosemary Gatto, all of Utica, Rosemond Kirkland of Whitesboro, Carmen "Bud" and Rebecca Graziano of FL, Carmella D'Agostino of Utica, Ray and Freida Mazza of Frankfort, Yvonne Holstein of Syracuse, Peter Graziano of Washington, D.C., and Carmen Mango of FL; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Peter, Anthony J., and James J. Graziano, Millie Cicciarelli, Rose Clerrico, Mary Mazza, Fannie Mango, and Josephine Graziano. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 5-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Please omit floral offerings. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial donations in Angela's honor to a charity of choice. Miss Graziano's funeral will commence on Thursday morning at 8:30 from the funeral home and at 9:30 at St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will take place in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
