Angeline L. (Antonucci) Damiano

Mrs. Angeline L. (Antonucci) Damiano, age 77, formerly of St. Vincent Street, Utica, and for the past three years a resident of Morenci, Michigan where she lived with her daughter, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Adrian Health Care Center in Adrian MI. Born in Utica on May 16, 1928, Angeline was the daughter of the late Carlo and Annuziata “Nancy” (Carcioni) Antonucci. She was raised here and attended local schools. After completing her secondary studies, she continued her education at the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. At one time she was married to Armond Damiano. Angeline had a successful and rewarding career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She began the practice of this profession at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center and later with the former St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital Center. After a number of years in the hospitals, she accepted assignments as a private nurse in the field of home care. As a woman of generous spirit and helpful ways, Angeline was active in community work and public service, such as her involvement in the volunteer programs at the Munson Williams Proctor Institute and her participation in blood pressure screening for local seniors. Her favorite leisure activity was traveling and over the years she had visited many countries and memorable sites throughout the world. She was of the Catholic faith and belonged to the Madonna Della Libra Society. Mrs. Damiano is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Antoinette “Toni” Damiano of FL, and Nancy L. and John B. Salerno of Morenci MI; a son and daughter-in-law, Armand and Mary Damiano of VA; her eight grandchildren, Valerie A. Salerno, Jonathon S. Salerno, Christopher A. Salerno, and Joseph J. Salerno, all of MI, and Christina Damiano, Alex Damiano, Andrea Damiano, and Danielle Damiano, all of VA; and a nephew, Carl Antonucci of Utica. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Peter and Rita J. Antonucci, and Saverio J. Antonucci. Visitation will be held today (Thursday) from 4-6 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Angeline’s funeral and a Celebration of her Life will be conducted at the funeral home at 6:00 this evening immediately following calling hours. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
