Mrs. Amelia M. (Ciccone) Graziano

Mrs. Amelia Mary (Ciccone) Graziano, age 101, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the comfort of her home with her loving family at her side. Born in Utica on February 4, 1915, Amelia was the daughter of the late Antonio and Marianna (Consales) Ciccone. She was raised and educated in Utica. On September 21, 1935 she was joined in marriage with Salvatore A. Graziano; they shared 48 wonderful years together before his passing on December 14, 1983. Amelia was selfless, caring, and funny. She loved babies, bingo, and good banana splits. She played bingo at local churches and the East Side Senior Center where she made many friendships. She loved to go to the Casino and took many bus trips with her friends. She was a communicant of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Amelia will be greatly missed by her family: daughters and son-in-law, Beverly A. Graziano of Utica with whom she shared a home and loving devotion, and Marianna and James Johnson of Delaware; her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Carol Graziano, Bruno A. and Christine Graziano, all of Utica, and Anthony Graziano and Sandy Smith of Mohawk; her grandchildren, Robert S. Sterling and Andrea Girona, Paige and Josh Russell; Angela Graziano, Ronald, Jr. and Kristen Graziano, Michelle and Brian Lipes; Martin Graziano, Michael Graziano; Ryan and Marisa Graziano, and Michael Fikes; her great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Gemma, Brianna, Kezia, Travis, Michael, Amanda, and Kaitlyn. Amelia leaves one sister Clara DePaul of CA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law, Lorene Graziano. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Bernadette and Gennaro D’Onofrio; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry M. and Marian Ciccone, and Marshall H. and Patricia Ciccone; and many special in-laws. The family extends thanks to Amelia’s primary physician, Dr. Raouf Kodsy, for his professional expertise and concern, as well as her home health nurses, Sharon Tomaino and Tony Burnett, who cared for Amelia with love and dignity. Amelia’s family will honor and celebrate her life in a private gathering. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Arthur Krawczenko. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
