Alice B. (Ambroselli) Marangi

UTICA/SARATOGA SPRINGS – Alice B. (Ambroselli) Marangi, age 96, a lifelong Catholic, went off to sleep peacefully on January 30, 2026, with those she loved most in her heart. Born in Utica on December 5, 1929, Alice was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary (Circelli) Ambroselli. It was in the same city where she grew up that she found love and married Louis J. “Louie” Marangi. Together, they raised three children and shared over 50 years of marriage prior to Louis’ passing on December 2, 2007. After many years devoted to her role as a homemaker, Alice went on to work as a supervisor in the Food Service Department at the Central New York Psychiatric Center. During her time there, she made many friends and remained in that position for ten years prior to her retirement. Known for her kind and generous heart, Alice’s caring spirit touched many, and she found deep fulfillment in helping others. Above all, she treasured her roles as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her passion for cooking and baking and most of all, for her delicious tomato pie which she was famous for. She enjoyed watching horse racing, game shows, and spending time working on her puzzle books, especially Word Finds. In her later years, she became an avid sports fan, with a special love for the New York Mets. One of her greatest joys was time spent visiting with her great-granddaughter. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald “Ron” and Elaine Hawley; daughters, Rosemary Marangi-Marsden (the late Harold I. Marsden, Jr.), and Dixianna “Dixie” Wangerin; grandchildren, Shawn and Stacey Hawley, Nicole Hawley, Andrew Marsden, Jamie Wangerin and Jesse DeRoche, Kelly and Derek Ingersol, and Brian Wangerin; great-granddaughter, Alice Rose Wangerin; and sister, Lucille Ferrone (the late Raymond Ferrone). She cherished the memories of her brothers and sister-in-law who preceded her, Philip J. Ambroselli, and Michael “Mickey” Sr. and Helen Ambroselli. She is additionally survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. The Marangi family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Wesley Health Care Center for the care and compassion rendered to Alice during her time there. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Alice’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery.
