Mr. Alexander J. "Alex" "Sandor" Egresits

UTICA – Mr. Alexander J. “Alex” “Sandor” Egresits, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, after a courageous battle in the comfort and dignity of his home. At the time of his passing, his loving family was by his side. Born in Utica on January 22, 1960 to the late John, Sr. and Aranka “Goldie” (Toth) Egresits, Alexander was a graduate of Utica Free Academy/Class of 1978. At one time, Alexander was married to the former Raquel Rios for 27 years. As a result of their union came the blessings of four daughters, Tamara, Nicole, Jennifer, and Alexis, He then shared a relationship with Tammy Zecca, and from that bond came the blessing of their daughter, Brooke. A hard worker by nature, Alex held employment, for over 27 years, at Hamilton College as their Paint Foreman. Alex was more than just an employee; he was a cherished member of their community. Alex is remembered as someone incredibly loving and caring. He would do absolutely anything for his family, and they were the focus of his existence and reason for everything he did. He was heavily involved in all of his children’s activities, including supporting his daughter Brooke at her volleyball, soccer, and lacrosse games. He enjoyed golfing with his brothers, and participated in the Wednesday golf league. In his earlier years, he excelled in baseball and soccer. He was always active with the Catholic Basketball League. Alex had an incredibly strong faith in the Lord, and read scripture every day. Alex is survived by his beloved daughters and their loves, Tamara M. Egresits and Bobby “B” Burmaster, Nicole L. and Mike Kohlbrenner, Jennifer A. Egresits and Craig Griffin, Alexis “Lexi” Egresits, and their mother Raquel, Brooke A. Egresits, and her mother Tammy; his adored grandchildren, Michael; Sophie; Gianna, and triplets: C.J., Carter, and Christian; sister and brother-in-law, Aranka Egresits-WMS and Dennis Gacek; and brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Victoria Egresits, Vincent E. and Judy Egresits, and Tom and Anna Egresits. He held the memory close of his brother, Andrew “Andy” Egresits, who passed on June 22, 2021, leaving behind Alex’s sister-in-law, Wendy. He also leaves to cherish his memory many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; and a host of many friends. He was additionally predeceased by his sister-in-law, Kathleen “Kay” Egresits. Gratitude is extended on behalf of the Egresits family to Dr. Haider Khadim of the Slocum-Dickson Medical Group for his genuine care and professionalism. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Alexander’s honor may be made to his family to assist them with the costs of raising his beloved triplet grandsons; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Alexander’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home and at 11:30 a.m. at the Catholic Community of Whitesboro at St. Paul’s Church, 16 Park Ave., Whitesboro. He will be laid to rest alongside his parents in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
