Mr. Scott Louis "Augie" Agostino

UTICA – Mr. Scott Louis “Augie” Agostino, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in the comfort of his home. Born in New Hartford on September 12, 1971, Scott was the son of Lorraine (Foster) Agostino and the late Gerard L. “Jerry” Agostino who passed away in December of 2013. Scott was a graduate of Utica Senior Academy and furthered his education at MVCC where he received his associate degree in social work. Scott held employment in the meat processing industry, first with Gold Medal, and later working for Delft Blue, NY Processing, and lastly with Medmen as a manager of extraction. He also worked at the Feed Our Vets Utica Pantry for a time. Scott was smart and possessed a good sense of humor and the gift of gab. His affable personality and ability to make personal connections with those around him made him a friend to almost everyone he met and worked with. Everyone loved Scott, as he was truly a “gentle giant.” Scott had many hobbies, he spent much of his free time outdoors, hunting or fishing. Summers were spent on his houseboat in the company of his cat, Bette, and dog, Gucci. He was also a member of a bowling league at Vista Lanes where he upheld a good score. Scott held a blue belt in Judo as well. Motorcycles were another one of Scott’s passions and he enjoyed maintaining them as much as he did riding them. Scott’s passion for music and his lovable personality transitioned well into a side job DJing at parties, weddings, and events. He was able to connect with the crowd and bring everyone together onto the dance floor. Scott is survived by his mother, Lorraine; and companion, Kathleen “Kathy” Gotte. He will be deeply missed by his uncle and aunt, Lynn and Karen Foster; several cousins; a goddaughter; and many additional family members and friends. Scott was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Leo and Lena (Eanniello) Foster; paternal grandparents, Louis and Rose (Voce) Agostino; and close friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Scott’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life, which will commence on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
