Sarah L. Williams Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

UTICA - Sarah L. (Nichols) Williams, age 60, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 with those she loved most in her heart. Born on August 5, 1961, Sarah was the daughter of the late John Nichols and Janet L. Johnson. She was a resident of Utica and attended local schools. Sarah shared a loving, genuine relationship with James Howard. Bonded through the years, they co-parented and maintained a forever friendship. A hard-working woman, Sarah was steadfast in providing for her family. Many would most remember her “dispensing spirits” as a remarkable bartender at the Hollywood Restaurant. She also held various other positions that she enjoyed over the years, most notably K-Mart as a sales associate, and caring for as many as she could as a CNA at several local nursing home facilities. As her children were born, they became her priority, and overtime she welcomed the idea of becoming a stay-at-home mom. During the tough times, she sacrificed for her children, and nurtured and raised them the best she could. Her children’s needs were always met and she instilled in them a sense of responsibility and core values. Sarah was a loving soul, sincere as the day is long. Her home was welcoming and her hospitality was warm. A creative cook, she could make a meal in a jiffy, and her specialty of the house was her lasagna and pasta dishes that were delicious and memorable. Family outings in the backyard were her favorite and everyone was provided with a plate. Sarah also served salty sarcasm blended with her sharp wit, and she said the things that others wouldn’t say! Even though she was a sassy gal with a strong stance on her opinions, you just had to love her. If you didn’t appreciate her advice, you acknowledged that it came from a good place in her heart. You could never question her selflessness. Her leisure activities included card games, especially Spades, Skip-Bo, and Tunk; Bingo at the Greystone Bingo Hall. She also enjoyed the online game of Candy Crush where she would play for hours and enjoyed figuring out difficult levels. The greatest source of Sarah’s strength was the love and acceptance of her children. The entire family was of the utmost importance to her. She was “Mom” to her children, and “Titi” to everyone who was in her circle of life. She was a strong woman who found comfort in her faith. She spiritually was preparing herself to transition, and she even told family that she had gotten a call that she was going to a good place. Sarah was the glue of this family and life will be different without her here~ Her heart, her home, and her life were an open book and everyone will feel the void, yet keep the memories that defined Sarah’s strength, faith, and unwavering love. Sarah is survived by her children and their loves, Tammy Greene, Paul and Julie Irizarry, Jerrell Howard and Michael Alsheimer, and Juwan Howard and Aubriana Thomas; her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Rahmere, and Ahnia Greene; Mariana, Paulie, twins Latina and Italia Irizarry; and Avani SaraLynn Howard; her great-grandson, Rahmere Jr.; sister, Louise Rolon; and brother, Steven Moshier. Always close to her heart was the memory of her brother, Luis A. Rolon, Jr. who preceded her in 1998; and her sister, Shirley “Squirels” Delano in 2021; She will also be remembered by her many beloved nieces,nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, uncle; She never had favorites but had a special bond with the kids she helped raise, especially Janel Delano, Matthew Rolon and Kailee Moerler. Sarah maintained many close friendships she formed throughout her life, most notably Ann Smith who was her longtime dear friend with whom she shared a very close sisterly relationship. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Margaret Ford and her aunts Jeanne Rosado and Joan Payne. Sarah always wanted everyone to feel her unconditional love and she would often remind us where to find it. She will be missed terribly. The family extends a genuine thank you to Dr. Julie Betro Skane; and the personnel of MVHS at St. Elizabeth Campus, especially the ICU staff. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Sarah’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 6:00 at the funeral home upon conclusion of visitation.
