Mr. Roy L. Duhart Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

UTICA – Mr. Roy L. Duhart, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in the comfort and dignity of his home. Roy was born in Perry, GA, on May 8, 1950, to the late George Washington Duhart, Sr. and Hester A. (Fuller) Duhart. Roy was a graduate of Utica Free Academy/Class of 1968. After that, Roy furthered his studies at MVCC, receiving a degree in HVAC. On March 12, 1976, Roy married the former Gwendolyn R. Brown with whom he shared over 46 years. He supported his family with his career as an engineer. At one time, he held a position at GE at French Road and then eventually retired from a position as an engineer for Verizon. A man who was always hungry for more knowledge, Roy was loved by his community. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh. For fun, Roy enjoyed reading—especially self-improvement books—and completing crossword puzzles. A man of faith, Roy attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. Roy is survived by his wife, Gwen; and his daughters, Rachel L. Duhart and fiancé Philip Caporale, and Jessica Duhart-Robinson and her husband Wyatt Robinson. Roy will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren, Roy K.D. Robinson, Wyatt O. Robinson III, and Kole M.D. Robinson. He leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Mary A. and Lawrence Cross, Sr.; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest C. and Bonita Duhart, Eule E. Duhart, George W. Jr. and Gloria Duhart, and Edgar Sim and Sabrina Duhart. Roy held close the memory of his siblings who preceded him, Nancy Duhart, Julius Duhart, and Queen Ester Duhart; as well as his sisters-in-law, Mary Duhart, Patricia Brown Duhart, Joanne Brown, and Amelia Brown; and the memory of his brothers-in-law, Alfred Brown, and Gyrace Brown. Roy will be fondly remembered by his in-laws, Lorie and Joseph Pelzer, Connie and Bishop Edward Corton, Alexandria and John Gore, and John and Cheri Brown. Roy also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. The Duhart family would like to thank the physicians who attended to Roy for their kindness and professionalism. The family will honor his life in a private gathering.
