Mrs. Rosalin "Roz" (Grasso) Mazza Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

ROCKLEDGE, FL/UTICA – Mrs. Rosalin "Roz" (Grasso) Mazza, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Monday November 8th, 2021, with those she loved by her side. Roz was born in Utica, on April 27, 1939, to the late Joseph and Philomena (Solimando) Grasso. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1957. Roz furthered her studies and went on to become a stenographer, by attending Utica Business School. Additionally, Roz gained her cosmetology license from Mohawk Valley Beauty School and alongside her sister Maryrose, owned and operated the Capri Beauty Salon for many years. On April 13th, 1974, Roz married her love, John J. Mazza. The couple was blessed to share in a loving and devoted union of 26 years, prior to his passing on March 6, 2001. Roz enjoyed an extended career that benefited from her many passions and talents. She enjoyed her role as a Sales Representative at JC Penney’s, a hostess at Danielle’s Valley View and a faithful Greeter and Card Table Attendant for the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., for many years. A fun-loving woman and always with a smile, Roz enjoyed her time helping others and meeting new people. She delighted in dining out with family and friends, with whom she loved to share great food and wine. With a heart of gold and a warm and loving personality, Roz made an impact on those in her life. She will always be remembered for her goodness and moreover, for her strength and steadfast convictions. Roz was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church. Roz is survived by her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Maryrose and Jim Schiavetta, with whom she resided in Florida. She leaves behind her devoted nephews and nieces, especially Jim and Evelyn Schiavetta and Joe and Lisa Schiavetta; as well as many special cousins. Roz will live on in the hearts of her in-laws, Mrs. Dorothy “Dottie” Mazza and the Mazza family and in the hearts of her numerous and wonderful friends. Roz was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Joseph F. Mazza Sr. A Memorial Gathering with be held in Roz’s honor on Friday, April 29th, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., followed by her Memorial Service and Celebration of Life, commencing at 10:00 a.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
